OK, my next question- hopefully Frinkprof or somebody knows.
What is the plan for 4 car trains along 9th street SW? The current 4 car trains take up an entire block. I suppose one option might be to change it to crossing more like 58th ave where the train always gets priority. However it would be great if that could mark the begining of the downtown subway construction.

They will probably have to give trains priority from 4th to 7th. How exactly that will work, I don't know.
Even with the addition of the 8th ave subway, there will very likely be a level crossing at least at 4th Ave.
Connect due out in 2013. Testing is currently still underway (was extended). Doubt the program is going to be put in the trash. The hardware is now installed on most transit assets. The value of the data Connect will provide will also give additional insight into ridership that we currently do not have.

^Yeah, it won't be scrapped. Certainly delayed though.
I had an update on it recently, the company that won the contract to design the system is working through the issues that the initial testing phase brought up and is working with Transit to resolve them.

^Connect cards (either disposable or reloadable) will replace monthly passes. Cash fares will always be accepted and the tickets will still be available as well.

-You can really see the difference in activity as the system goes from rush to midday service at 09:00 and then back again at 15:00
- It appears this isn't comprehensive. I think this is pre-Saddletowne NE LRT extension and it doesn't show a few crosstown routes.
- You can see the first trip of the day is a train leaving the LRT storage at Anderson and heading up to Crowfoot, it gets to about downtown before another train leaves to go south, just after this, another train leaves the Oliver Bowen storage in the NE to start up that line.

Vancouver's trips me out: so many dots so many grids.
as does Toronto's although does seem like a giant pride parade from space.
