Anyone know what Netflix Mexico's selection is like? I have to assume also that it's mostly English with Spanish subtitles....I hope?

It's better than Canada, that's all you need to know. Don't recall seeing subtitles.

By authenticate, do you mean pay for the account?

Yes, sign in with a paid account.

For another $5/month, I think it's worth it.

My latest guilty pleasure is that I've been hooked on Korean Dramas that the US Netflix seems to have added in droves.

Even funnier, they appear to be fansubs as I've noticed some subs saying: "If you copy our subs, we'll kill you" and other fansub tropes.

That said, they are extremely good quality subs aside from some timing issues on one or two videos.

If you are only watching on your PC where you have control of proxy settings, use a free proxy when loading the Netflix page. Click the video you want and allow the loading bar to get past 20-33% or let it complete and then switch off the proxy. The location check only occurs during the initial loading and you can keep watching off your normal connection. This can be clumsy at times and you may have to keep connecting over and over again to find a proxy that works and it's annoying when you finish an episode and want to get a new episode (have to repeat the process over again) but it does work.

I have only seen the first two seasons as well, but a bunch of people have told me season 3 takes a serious plunge in quality before returning to form in season 4... apparently they tried a new writing style in season 3 which didn't pan out-

either way, first two seasons were awesome.

I never should have looked at the US selection while on vacation. Lots of good stuff in there.

I am thinking of getting Netflix and would love to hear people's experince.

The main concern is it in HD?

Some is, some isn't.

I mostly use it for kids stuff, which isn't available in HD anyway so I don't notice it at all.

For 8 bucks a month, totally worth it. If you get tired of it after a month, just cancel.

In the first month I had it, I watched the first four seasons of Mad Men and Justified. If I would have bought all the blu-rays of the six total seasons it would have cost me upwards of 200 bucks, instead it cost me... 8. I also like watching things and not owning a physical package.

Thanks, I assume it's all in HD content?

How is the selection of new movies?

Most of the newer TV shows are in HD, as well as a lot of movies and documentaries. Much of the SD content is presented in widescreen, so although you don't get the higher resolution, you get a nice 16x9 picture. Aspect ratio > resolution to me. But most things are in HD.

New movie selection kind of blows, to be honest. If you're looking for new releases, Netflix isn't for you unfortunately. They do have a good selection of documentaries. I have been making a list of things that I would like to watch, and I don't feel that I'll ever be able to see everything. So there is a lot of stuff, but not necessarily new releases.

TV is actually what I watch the most on Netflix. Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Top Gear, etc. are just a few that have saved me a bunch on buying the DVDs. Right there I have justified the monthly cost for quite a few months.

As others have suggested, you should just do the free month and decide from there. You can even suspend your subscription on a whim whenever you want. If you're not likely to watch anything over the summer, for example, just suspend it until the fall and save yourself a few months worth of the cost.

And one more suggestion: Once you've signed up, browse the netflix web site (not from your PS3, Apple TV, etc.) to find stuff that you'll like. Browsing on the device itself doesn't let you go as deep into the selection by browsing (but you still can by searching). I search for stuff on my PC and then bookmark things that I want to watch.
