Default Coyotes 3 Flames 0

Game Takes: Coyotes 3 Flames 0

- Rittich cough up goal
- Calgary presses down 2-0 but can't solve Kuemper
- Line brawl in the second had Tkachuk drop the goaltender

Tkachuk and Gaudreau need to change places.

You want Gaudreau on the shutdown line?

I wanna see Tkachuk play with Monahan and Gaudreau play with Lindholm. Fill the RW spots however, but those should be the top two forward pairings.

I agree with switching things up but the last thing I would do is put Gaudreau with Backlund.

My suggestion would move Backlund to 3C, which at this point in his career is probably where he belongs. He just doesn't look like the 45-50 point Selke caliber 2C he was the last 4 or so seasons.

Thanks Bingo, great write-up as usual.

Well once again the Flames are hitting a stretch that might define their year.

They current are in 21st spot in the league by winning % and 11th in the West.

That is the bad news. The good news is that the bubble is huge. They need only 2 more wins than losses to move up 5 spots in the west.

The next 6 games are

In Vegas today

The Avs at home

At St.L

At Philly

at Pitts

at Buff

There are 6 games in a row where they will not be favored to win.

The Flames go 2-4 and it will be close to panic time.

3-3 will keep them at the bottom of the bubble.

The hole is deep enough.

what a great time to go on a bit of a run.

Fatherhood can do that to a player.

Yeah no

The Flames have had the hardest schedule in the Western Conference, and 4th overall to date, and are a game over .500 despite not playing all that well, and literally having a no show from their top line.

I've said it before, I like this struggle. I'd be annoyed/worried if they had a hot start to the season and were able to just ignore what happened in the playoffs last year.

It wouldn't hurt for Gaudreau to learn how to be a better 2 way player.
