The Penguins and Flyers already have retro based jerseys. Both franchises only came about in the late 60s, and the current jerseys are pretty close to those. Given them word marks to make their jerseys look old timey is dumb. Those teams didn't exist in that old time.
If they want to go off the board with a retro jersey, they should make a tribute to a previous franchise in those cities, like the Pirates or Quakers. Would actually add to the rivalry, as the Pirates were moved from Pittsburgh to Philly to become the Quakers.

Reverse retro? So they’ve taken a an older jersey but with the colours swapped? What marketing genius thought this one up?
The Penguins and Flyers templates they picked from the 90s and 00s are just the worst. A new coat of paint does not help. I guess this means the Flames are getting a red or white Blasty jersey. Yay?

The NHL/Adidas is following the steps of the NBA/Nike in having lots of new jerseys per season. Some callbacks to previous looks, and others more experimental. I'm all for it. League should make a lot of money from this.

I like the Penguins one. The Flyers, not so much.
And regarding a white Blasty, no. Either bring back the black jersey exactly as it was or not at all.
