I personally think the white on the pedestal pants ties it all together pretty good, with the white outline on blasty, the white C on the shoulder, white C on the pants itself. Also with the white in the non-uniform equipment likes skates and gloves. Im a fan

100%
The AC mock-up with the extra white stripes is too cluttered and takes away from the blackout style. The white accents are enough.
Less is more in this case. Flames nailed it.
Still love you though AC

I think it needed some white because without it the jerseys look way too similar to the Canucks black skate jerseys. Hell, with a bit of the black flying V thrown in with the chevron style striping.
I still think it's sharp, but I also liked the Canucks black skate jerseys.

Agreed.
It's a good looking uniform but its a Canucks looking uniform so hard to see past that.

Fire = red and yellow, makes sense.
Black = goes with everything, natural accent colour.
Calgary Flames - Black, Red, Yellow uniform? Yeah, makes sense.
Canuck = uhh... green and blue? Red and yellow? Navy, maroon & silver?
Are the Flames designers really restricted from making a sharp uniform that’s only going to see the ice a handful of times and is mainly designed to move a bunch of merch because the franchise on the coast suffers from the sports version of multiple personality disorder?

No, it's just odd that the Flames actually removed a pre-existing red stripe from the original Blasty jersey and made it look very similar to a Canucks jersey in the process.

I must be the only one who doesn't think of the Canucks in the slightest when I see this jersey.
I have no issue calling out horrible Flames jersey elements, like the flags. But I really don't have any big problems with this jersey at all.

Yeah the canucks comparisons are odd to me. There are our colours. They have been for a while. They haven’t been canucks colours for a long time either.

But its not reverse retro, or as good as the original. Make it better then the original!! Or at least as good! Or at least different!
In the words of Loob, A little bit Lazy.
Interested to see what the Blasty hats looks like!

I'm not sure how the comparisons are odd. They literally have the same order of striping colours now, with just slightly different thicknesses and angles. The original Blasty ended with red at the bottoms which made a big difference visually, but they've been changed to black which is what the Canucks used / use.
Remember, the Canucks wore them last year.
Or if you'd prefer, the new blasty is more like an italicized Team Germany jersey but with white letters and numbers.
Again, it's totally fine to like the new design. But dropping the largest red stripe from the original for black has objectively made them more similar to the Canucks black jersey as a result.

This might be something to do with age and how long someone has been a Flames fan.
The younger fan must have remembered Blasty fondly as their first Flames jersey. The older fan (like me) will remember how the Pedestal/Blasty jerseys were when our franchise took a huge nosedive, had move on from players like MacInnis, Nieuwendyk, Fleury strictly for league-wide financial reasons, etc.
Yes, Blasty was a part of the Flames resurgence with Iginla's 50 goal season and was worn a few times in the magical 2003-2004 season, but for older fans like me, we also remember the years when the Canucks wore there black flying skate jerseys. Perhaps that may be why we see it and you don't.
My kids like the Blasty jersey, so if they want one, I'll buy it for them. The Flames brought back the full time retros home and away, so I will likely buy myself a new Adidas away retro jersey. It really is a win-win situation for Flames fans.

I see the similarities but I didn’t think of it until someone pointed it out. I also think it’s odd to suggest we’re ripping them off when we’ve been using this colour scheme for 25 years. They were bound to have a similar looking uniform eventually.

Over 70% here like the jersey and most of the public outside this forum. It's not even debatable as they are a slam dunk win for the organization and a minority group of naysayers don't change that.

The Vancouver colour thing doesn’t really bother me. It’s Vancouver that can’t figure it out. Plus 1/2 the teams in the league are red, white and blue so whatever. I have to say not a fan of the white C shoulders. Would look better with a red C or even the CF patch. Or honestly with nothing at all. Nothing at all!
Why is it always the shoulders?

Small thing and probably just me but does it look a little bit weird on the Backlund pic with one of the shoulder C’s up and one down?

Doesn't bother me either. There are enough reasons to not like the Canucks, but I always liked that colour scheme.
The problem is that the Canucks changed their colours a few times and don't really have an association with a particular scheme or pattern. They don't keep anything long enough to "own" it.

I think it looks good. They’re both facing the correct direction. It would look idiotic if they did a backwards C.
