Even 42 goals and 69 points seems wrong.
From further down on his Wikipedia article:
Code:
GP G A Pts
Junior totals 14 5 4 9
Senior totals 71 44 30 74
Not sure what accounts for the discrepancy.

No love for Ed Belfour? He wore the heck out of those slacks and Jersey combos at the 2002 Olympics.

World juniors too. Iginla had a great tournament in Boston when we traded for him.

ok, glad to see my Perreault suggestion on page 1 wasn't completely out of left field, in fact the only one of the top 10 best on best scorers to not make the team, and in PPG behind only Gretzky
his game matched up well against the Soviets, the Sabres also had some big games in the exhibition games against them too as I recall

How did Ryan Smyth play in what? 350 World Championship games not end up in either of those scoring lists? With the out cry from Edmonton I thought for sure he would show up!

According to hockeydb, he played in four World Championships. He played 34 games and had 22 points. This includes all the points against Germany, Austria and France.
Ryan Smyth isn't on the list because he is no good.

Yeah, as low scoring as the 2014 iteration was, I don't think they were ever in any position to really lose. They played with so much control it's like they pre-determined the scores they wanted and played to them.
As for the list, Toews seems like an omission to me. I guess I don't have any personal recollection of anything before the 95 World Cup, but I'd say Toews would be there over Yzerman, who wasn't a key part of any of that era of Team Canada's. The Nash-Toews-Richards line was pivotal in 2010 as the shutdown line (the goal where Toews stripped the puck from Malkin and Nash eventually scored on the counter was to me, the goal of the tournament outside of the Golden Goal), he scored in the gold medal games in 2010 and 2014, and along with the likes of Iginla and Niedermayer (and a few others) has the impressive Team Canada collection of World Junior, World Championship, World Cup and Olympic gold medals.

he's listed as the foundational player- now its hard to know if that is the best or worst position, but still he's there (as Lanny was to the Flames and Jacques Plante was to the Habs)

Missed that. I won’t blame myself, I’ll blame the foundational player being a stupid idea in the first place rather than me not reading.
2 goalies, 6 defenseman and 12 forwards then sure, pick a foundational player. But 3-7-13 AND another player? Come on!

I'd replace Heatley with Bergeron.
Bergeron has been great on Crosby's wing at international tournaments.

Yeah, I’m actually surprised that they included him. I know it’s different criteria and some players could never have qualified because of era but it essentially means he’s a top 25 Canadian but not a top 100 NHLer. That’s unpossible.
