Thumbs up Flames increase season tickets prices again! Update: Flames reverse price increase!

I just received my renewal for next season. An increase of 6%
Orange price level.

This makes me wonder what the prices in the new building are going to be. Its the same mediocre product in an old building. Funny thing is that the team is more than 6% worse this year.

Almost 8% in the blacks. Alas, as long as the building is >90% full, this is to be expected.

Well they have to pay for the $8M cap increase somehow, I guess.

There is inflation in every product, be glad you not only have a team in your city but are in a position in life to afford season tickets.

The Flames can’t fill the stadium already, and with the economy getting worst , I project a massive drop in renewals this year.

I highly doubt it. They do their research. I'd bet their renewals will be the same as most years. The loud voice we listen to here is the >5%.

Umm if the Flames went up for sale today someone would buy it within a day. So don't start with the glad you have an NHL team crap.

Normally I would 100% agree with you, but it could be interesting.

A few STH I have talked to are not happy (Too much work to sell tickets; low resell prices when they do [Myself included]).
My rep. asked me how hard it was to resell tickets (Which I thought was strange).
I'm not saying your wrong, but not saying you are right either. A good playoff drive could turn things around.

I'd imagine they have years of research telling them what price increases will do.

Waiting lists, renewal rates, etc. Hard to see an increase like this if they expect an issue.

This is disappointing. The biggest struggle for me is the resale. I have tickets in the blues and I have struggled mightily to sell tickets. Typically I have had to sell my seats the day of the game which means I can’t donate them so I sell them for half my price or give them away to friends.

If resale were easier then I don’t have a problem paying the increase.

So 7 to 8% increase in the blacks, 7% increase in the greens, 6% increase in the orange, 2.75% in the blues. Looks like they are preparing fans in the cheaper price points seats for the new stadium increase?

Blues have a 6.04% increase. Not sure why others say it is 2%. Sec 225 blue is 6.04% anyways.

Damn season ticket price increases. Come get season tickets to Cavalry FC instead! Cheapest seasons are like $300 and the atmosphere is electric, the team is the best in the league, the beer and food prices are much better and games are hella fun. Just sayin'.

100% agree and it's the reason I'm likely not going to renew this year.

Just FYI, you can transfer your tickets to Kids Up Front at calgary@kidsupfront.com as late as 2pm on game day.

This is spot on. Ive had these since 1995 and i wont be renewing because its become inconvenient to go to so many games and when i cant make the game reselling is near impossible. I could barely give last nights game away.

I looked went back and looked at my renewal invoice for the 2015/16 season. The renewal for 2020/21 is 26.3% higher.

That seems like a pretty hefty increase; fortunately, I'm in the PL so the increase in actual dollars isn't too bad.
