Ha ha ha. If Gretzky has actually been offered a B or C prospect for Chiasson I'm not sure how he's not running to the fax machine to get that done.

Jim Matheson believes the Oilers are likely to retain winger Alex Chiasson and attempt to re-sign him. GM Keith Gretzky is said to have “no stomach for taking a draft pick or another team’s B or C prospect for his top-six winger.

Intentions and actually agreeing/signing an extention are very very different things.
BT isnt going to offer multiple 1sts and 2 future/current players without having at least a handshake agreement in place.

I hope Chaisson does get a new deal....seems like a really good guy, honest player that can fill a role every team has....he was just completely miscast in Calgary.

Jermain Franklin mentioned that the Flames are scheduled to practice on Long Island at 1:00pm EST. So, that should get the speculation ramped up if there are any unexpected "maintenance" days.

A source told LeBrun the Senators haven’t given any club permission to speak directly with Stone’s representatives
Good chance Ottawa knows Stone wants to hit free agency and doesn't want other teams to know they wont have much of a chance to resign him.

Which makes way more sense than signing a long extension with a club you have never played with and taking away your ability to check all the options you would have available July 1.
