The last half of BSG's third season finale was possibly the best 25 minutes of television in history. Makes up for both the series finale of BSG and The Plan.

Hmm, yes, thinking of it just gives me goosebumps.
Count me as one that enjoyed the series finale though. So, don't get discouraged about what you've heard.
It would have been like ending "AI" with him at the bottom of the ocean (the way it should have ended).
Part of me would have been upset by it, but the other part would have thought it was genius and definitely something that Moore would do. Ultimately I would come to love it as the perfect ending to such a dark series.

They had some sensational season ending episodes but, for sheer "Holy crap!!" shock value, I liked the end of season 1 better. Didn't see that coming at all.

Humanity on the brink of extinction, running from a dauntless enemy. It was simpler times, season one was.

I think it was the DVD commentary that I heard this but they actually wrote it to be a potential ending due to the writers strike at the time. Just incase the strike forced the show to end pre-emptively at least there was something to end it on! At the time it definitely felt like an "ending," albeit a hasty one (understandably so). Personally, it would have sufficed for me and certainly would have given the show a darker tone.
Hoping B&C gets done in some form or another! I actually bought the pilot episode of Caprica way after it was cancelled and thought it was decent enough. Haven't seen anything else though and have been missing not seeing anything Battelstar related on TV.

Ya that was probably the best for me as well. The delivery of it was awesome.
I was showing the series to my g/f on DVD and she was in total shock when it happened. Not a sci fi fan at all but season 2 had to immediately go into the DVD so she could find out what happened next.

Starbuck's fight with Number Six at the end of season 1. You could tell that good Alberta farm girl Tricia Helfer legitimately knew how to handle herself and, as it turns out, in real life, she's a kick boxer. It showed, even though the script said she lost.
Boomer finding lots of naked Boomers on the Cylon ship, then nuking them all before shooting Adama . . . .
Number Six leading Baltar into the opera house, melded scenes with the Adama shooting . . .
Tigh's brutal interrogation of Boomer at the start of Season 2 was classic . . . .
Boomer ramming her head into the side of her prison window in season 2 (I think) . . . .

33 which was the clock episode was probably the best episode that they ever did from an emotional level. And the episode where Baltar is in the prison cell talking about his background growing up where he lost his urbane accent.
And yeah the whole Fat Lee thing and his dad just crapping on him.
There were solid solid moments, but they lost their way a bit over the last year and a half.
Oh and the Blind Lawyer, I was so convinced that he was a Cylon.
