Default Movies That Make You Think And Reflect

I'm refering to any movie that causes you to think and reflect upon well after it has ended. More or less extending the enjoyment value of the movie.

One that comes to mind for me is one of Steven Spielberg's first movies "Duel". The plot surrounds a salesman who is persued and terrorised by a semi truck driver who is out to kill him.

Yeah for some reason I'm going to have to agree with Contact. Not the best executed movie, but certainly one that leaves me thinking. That said, I think Interstellar is going to be just downright amazing.

The first Matrix also help think about life, religion, reality and purpose.

Amour. Won best foreign film at the Oscars in 2012. Absolutely heartbreaking, brilliant film.

I have ONE movie on my iPad. Contact.

Carl believed that science needed to work with religious leaders for us to overcome our differences, preserve the planet for future generations and thrive as a species.

+1 to What Dreams May Come. I'm not religious by any stretch, but that had me really captivated and thinking about it.

I remember walking out of A Beautiful Mind and thinking about that movie for a few days afterwards.

There's not enough of these movies around to be quite honest. Her is the most recent thinking movie I've seen.

Ha we watched that last night as well.

It is a solid reminder for me as a parent.

Edward Norton, solid actor. Did he get an Oscar for that role?

No he didn't win, but at least he got a nomination for that role. Roberto Benigni beat out Norton and Tom Hanks that year, so pretty awful choice by the voters.
