So are you saying gay sex is a guilty pleasure? Or maybe just a certain level of promiscuity?
Also remember, a lot less was known about AIDS back then.

AIDS can manifest through other pricks as well and those are guilty pleasures.

Well I guess I don't see a problem with promiscuity as long as your doing it safely (which as I mentioned, we had far less information about it years ago than we do now) and you're not hurting/lying to anyone. Feeling guilty about sex, or shaming someone for it (especially unfairly to women) or saying they deserve what happened to them because they enjoyed sex is alien to me. But I guess we still live in a world where a lot of people think sex is bad or only to be had in special circumstances so I respect your viewpoint.
Trying to think of a guilty pleasure movie here. It's so subjective. I like The Rock, but I think it actually has a little value, I wouldn't even call it a guilty pleasure. Maybe ID4, but at the time that was a pretty cool movie too. Like Jurassic Park. It was a spectacle. Sure it didn't have the best acting, but it was a great movie.
I guess if I had a truly guilty pleasure movie, maybe the first remake of Charlies Angels...

My mission to get someone to watch a Young Guns, Young Guns 2, Reign of Fire triple bill is getting derailed by your Freddy Mercury talk. C'mon, guys. As penance, go watch Escape from L.A. 2 : Snake Plisken reads the Phone Book.

Fair enough, but we don't know if that was the cause.

Oh! I got one. It's one of those campy 'it's so bad it's good' movies.
Reptillian! Nearly impossible to find now, even on torrent sites. But if you wanna see a movie that has monsters fights ala Godzilla, aliens, jetpacks, and people struggling to keep an accent and stay in character, find Reptillian!
Oh, the main monsters name, is Little Gary. You can't make this stuff up!

Mortal Kombat. I can watch that movie over and over. Love the fighting, music, and one liners.

Independence Day for me. It's just so over the top with 'Murica! EFF Ya!! But I just can't help but watch it when it's on. One of the best pieces of propaganda I've ever seen. Kim Jong Il has nothing on these guys.

I'm not so sure some of you understand the meaning of "guilty pleasure".

Actually the whole film is filled with great 1 liners.
I content the Mean Girls is just a solid comedy with some top notch writing.

I agree, Mean Girls is an excellent movie, but it had a couple flaws.
I'd argue that the movie doesn't peak at the climax like it's supposed to. The peak of the movie happens when McAdams makes the burn book public, everyone goes ape####, and they have a big intervention in the gym.
Thus the movie feels anticlimactic when Lohan wins the math thing and becomes prom queen. It also suffers because the villain is knocked out of the picture before the climax (quite literally by a bus after the intervention).
Lohan's character also has her big "self revelation" too early, when she comes clean about the 'drug burn' (for lack of a better term), thus diminishing the payoff when she has her big speech at the dance.
I still rank this movie way up there for 21st century comedies. The first hour or so is perfect.
I literally just watched it on Netflix and felt like doing some story structure breakdown.

I agree. I think that a guilty pleasure movie is one that most people hate on the first viewing, but if they just gave it 4 or 5 more chances, it would really start to grow on them. Sort of like Ace Ventura 2 : When Nature Calls.
Here's one : 3000 Miles From Graceland.

Howard the Duck.
It's just a warped movie and I dig that. It's a weird blend of dark and light hearted. I realize it's pretty bad, but there's nothing quite like it.
Lea Thompson was so hot in this movie. Jefferey Jones owning the screen with his hammy villain. The interspecies erotica.
I also love the grit and grime of Cleveland in this movie. Welfare offices, nasty bathhouses, scummy back alleys and dive bars.
It's also the first movie I can recall seeing that made me think of other planets and what they might be like and who or what might inhabit them. It also freaked me the hell out when they opened an interdimensional portal and had some demonic aliens showing up. No better feeling than being traumatized/entranced by a weird movie as a kid.
I also have to mention the awesome Howard the Duck theme song at the end.
Huge guilty pleasure movie.

Alex & Emma
Most have never even heard of it but it's a romantic comedy that is told differently than most stories. It has Kate Hudson and Luke Wilson in it. It a combination of present day events and the story the writer is trying to tell, which are somewhat based on present day events. I find it amusing and interesting and "cute"

UHF and anything Weird Al related. I'm already pretty nerdy, but that guy takes it to the extreme…and I love him for it.
