I enjoy some of her music, but that song in particular is generically awful.

Catchy tune, but I prefer her more country-ish stuff.

No kidding. Sounds like a jingle for a commercial. It was painful but I watched the entire video and I don't get the racist comments. The only think I could conclude is that possibly some are offended that there wasn't a black ballerina as everything else was fairly standard stuff and mixed race.

These are the tweets people are talking about... I've taken the liberty of bolding the important part.

Exactly. She's talented musically on her own. I wish she'd evolve more instead of putting out basic pop music.

The video screenshot right above the leading paragraph has some white butts twerking too.

I don't get why this is seen as racist. I don't get why cultural appropriation is bad, don't all cultures adopt from each other over time?

May as well get mad at Elvis Presley for appropriating R&B and Rock and Roll. Those Earl tweets are some bullsh**.

You know what I find offensive? The obligatory "regular people dancing" segments in these videos now. It's so phony and contrived. I hate it so much.

The largest segment of her fan base is girls between the ages of 9 and 15. Those girls love to hear these types of songs. She might be talented enough to expand her musical range but she has to pander to her main fans because they are the ones watching the videos, making their own cover videos and buying (or asking for) concert tickets.

Sometimes I think that people really don't understand what racist really means, but they throw around the term because it makes the world stop and listen to them and agree with them because if they don't they're racists too.

There was a black rapper dude but honestly if she would have used a white guy it would have looked Vanilla Ice cringe inducing. Maybe they could have thrown in a black ballerina but as Captain said I believe these people are just using racism as an excuse to complain about an artist they may not care for.

The guy who complains about stereotypes has a track called "WakeUpF**got" on his album.

But props to him. Because of this, I made it a point to look up who he is.

Edit: Also "ThisN**gaUgly". Seriously, who is this guy?

She's no Beyonce but I've heard far worse, at least she can mostly carry the tune (when she sings lol).

What Swift needs is stamina, if the dancing is less work can do better on the singing.

Yeah, it's really hard to dance and sing. It's basically like exercising and then expecting to carry a tune. I can barely talk when I'm jogging. Obviously someone like Beyonce is an elite talent but it's not like she's horrible.

Didn't she perform at the grammy awards and before a ballad? That would be a fair assessment of her singing skills.
