Yup, they've been closed since March now unfortunately.
That place was almost a weekly after the bar tradition for me during my 20s. Now that it's gone, there's a void that can't be filled with crappy, gangster infested, poor service U and Me. Maybe I just miss Sam more than the food.
That's my dad. He's now retired and living the good life. He babysits my sisters two kids. Yeah, he's bored out of his mind.

Well, as bizarre as it sounds, the Ginger Beef in Harvest/Country Hills serves some of the most authentic Mandarin-style Chinese in the city. The Peking Duck is the best I've had outside of Beijing, and the pork is OH GOD so good. Expect a wait time though (they don't take reservations), the Chinese community knows how awesome it is and the place is often packed, unless you go early.
Seconding Ginger Beef. It's also a great place to take people less accustomed to Chinese food.
I'd also recommend Happy Hill (Happy Valley? The one near the Centre Street Bridge).
Peking Dragon in Mission (4 st sw) is great and has been great for many years. The place is totally dated, but good luck getting a seat some nights. I drive across town for takeout.
Shanghai Palace in Edgemont is amazing. I lived in Marlborough for a year when I first got together with my ex wife, and we would drive up to the NW to get it. When they found out we were driving that far to come there, they gave us a discount.
Gee Gong right on 3rd & centre street. A nice place no one knows about with delicious bbq pork and duck. They have real authentic dishes to if you ask.

The Peking duck is really good and I can't believe how cheap it is!! Too bad they're still closed because of the flood.
Chinese Village Restaurant. 6th st & 6th ave downtown. Yellow awning. Chinese buffet, with much better salt and pepper squid than Ho Wan. Ho Wan was overrated. Also serves cheap beer after lunch, and has a great deep fried chicken, too, even if it is a little salty.
Is the Hawkwood Palace so good? that place was always a favourite of my family growing up. Now that I'm moved back into the NW it will probably remain my go to if it's still good.

+1 for Peking Dragon. Always good and our go to for years.
