Default "Flog"ging is just around the corner

So I started this new job and I have to entertain clients by taking them golfing. Ya, I know, tough life.
Having said that, I'm not a very good golfer but I've joined men's night and have entered the industry golf tourney.
Here's my dilemma, I need new clubs but don't want to spend a fortune. I also want a decent set.
My question is; what's the best way to go about doing this?

Call away sells previously enjoyed clubs online. Of course you could try the used sports stores around town.

I'd also have a look at golf town as you do have some low dollar sets......if you think there is any chance you might enjoy your job, perhaps you want to make an investment.....maybe you could expense it?

Lastly, does your company need any help?

Ya, no chance of expensing it. Don't I wish.
Do they need help? Yes, but I think they need chemists or technical field representatives.

Since you mentioned it. Is used a good way to go or are most just really battered?

The best time to get clubs is end of season or the boxing day specials.

I would buy new and get the clubs tailored. I've seen a dramatic drop like over 10 strokes because the clubs didn't fit me at all. But that's just me. Some people don't really care... you can get decent clubs for 400-600 bucks.

Go around to local golf clubs and usually the pro shops will have previously used clubs for sale. That way you can go to the range and try them out before purchasing and by buying used you save some cash!

Take clients to mini-golf courses! Youll only need one club!!

Didn't know about the golf show. Wonder if there's one in Edmonton.

Sounds like lessons might be a better bet than new sticks?

The best option is to get to the golf show early on the Saturday for the best selection and deals.
