On that note, who is replacing Nylander's production? Even if he does end up missing only a few games most players who forego training camps take weeks to get up to NHL speed.

Leafs will get tons of points...they are a good team and look at their division FFS.

Winning four playoff rounds with that D? GL

Will they actually lose games because of no Nylander? I think they are a lock for the playoffs even if he plays 0 games.

Look out for Mitch Marner. Don't expect 69 points again. He can lead the entire team in scoring again and get way more points.

He has replaced Bozak's role though.

I am just glad people stopped hardping on "Who Will Replace Leo Komorov"? Addition by subtraction.

So go put your money down and shut up about it...just don't try and deny how odds are made.

If the same roster was in Carolina they wouldn't be cup favorites right now

Why are the Leafs usually with horrible odds with Vegas if that was true.

Let's be honest, if this exact roster was on Carolina all of you would be picking them to win the cup.

The Leafs can't be good at anything, can they? Always an excuse. Any team with 105 points that adds JT would be #1.

Why do I need an excuse exactly? because I know how odds work?

Did you put your money down? I hope so because its a TERRIBLE bet

+650 to pick a cup champ BEFORE the season lol

69 points with 16:28 of TOI. Only Laine has smilar stats with ice-time. No one else.

Thomas "Suitcase" Vanek had 55 points in 14:05 of ice time

By you? Absolutely!

By most sensible fans? Not as much.

Toronto sucks. Another first-round exit fits the mould for this season, and I will enjoy it just as much as I did last year.

**As a postscript, I am highly sceptical about the usefulness of pts/60mins as a predictor of future success with increased ice times. It almost NEVER works out like this.

Can you find ANYONE watching the Leafs that does not believe Marner will have terrific stats this season?

I also think that Marner will produce terrific numbers this season, but that is a far cry from the hilariously overoptimistic thought that he can lead the NHL in scoring. Maybe he scores 80 points. Maybe 70. I'm not betting on a massive improvement from last year.

A guy who gets 61 and 69 points without a single full year in a top 6 role is pretty darn good. He had a 90 point average the second he was moved to a better line next season.

He is a spectacular talent.

Is anyone saying he can lead the NHl in scoring? I have not heard that.

He will be PPG+ this season imo.

Yes, in almost three fewer minutes per game. Vanek was more productive, sorry bud.
