The reference to Friends and the yo mama jokes, in the interrogation scene was awesome! I was laughing pretty good with that scene. I'm definitely am liking this show. It's simply a well done spoof.

While its a 'spoof' I think what makes it really good is that it can stand on its own merits as well. It isnt just 'making fun of Star Trek' its it's own thing as well.

Another strong episode with what I think is strong writing

Love the story line but it did take strongly from a TNG episode where the guy who played Max Headroom claimed to come from the future but actually came from the past to steal future tech.
Loved the practical joke battle between Isaac and Malloy. When Isaac came on the bridge with the Mr Potato Head parts I literally burst out laughing and Isaac's ha ha after Malloy comes on the bridge missing his leg was great.
The effects were gorgeous in this episode especially the scene where they navigated through the black matter storm.
I liked Adrianne Palicki in Friday Night Lights, but she's just shooting the ball through the hoop in this show.
The girl fight was actually really awesome.
For those that wondered what a bridge crew does when they're flying through space with nothing to do .. . they watch Seinfield.

I thought last night's was the best episode yet. In the previous episodes, I found the humour was kind of shoehorned in and didn't really fit with the flow of the story. It was more like they thought, "We haven't had a joke for a while, better throw one in". Last night, the humour seemed to flow more naturally with the situations.
I know they're doing a running gag, but I'm already sick of "open this jar of pickles". You're bringing the woman who has the strength of 10 ordinary men (the Mighty Hercules), maybe have her open the doors from now on.
It would be nice if every episode didn't feel like a recycled Star Trek script though.
Also, it's hard to be on-screen with Charlize Theron and be the hotter one (unless it's in Monster), but Adrianne Palicki pulled it off in that scene in the Captain's quarters.

Yeah, I think that wardrobe choice was pretty intentional and goes back to Kelly still being in at least like with Ed.
her putting on that cocktail dress was a very non-futuristic enlightened, get your hands off of my man that I cheated on.
And I still like that jar of pickles thing for some reason, Alara might be 10x stronger then the average man, but she's pretty unsure of what she's supposed to be doing as a security chief, you saw that in the scene when Kelly tried to convince her to search the quarters. The pickles thing is just a nice little bridge between a Captain and a crew member.
I had one when I was in the military I think it went "Hey you f'n slackers, how bout doing some work for a change"
Or can you open this jar of pickles for me.

It did bug me that his leg was removed just above the knee, but the one that fell from the ceiling was pretty much a full leg. What if that was someone else's leg?
Also, I knew the actor who plays Gordon does the voice of Steve on American Dad, but it wasn't until he got angry and was yelling at Isaac that I could hear the similarities.
