What you are missing is that you probably shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet. Tickets to the inauguration (220k) are distributed to each member of congress and are available free from your own member of congress.
That said I'm sure there is some grift of some type going on. Or was. Never underestimate the stupidity something something

I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, find that additional steps must be taken to deal with the national emergency with respect to the information and communications technology and services supply chain declared in Executive Order 13873 of May 15, 2019 (Securing the Information and Communications Technology and Services Supply Chain). Specifically, the spread in the United States of mobile applications developed and owned by companies in the People’s Republic of China (China) continues to threaten the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States. At this time, action must be taken to address the threat posed by one mobile application in particular, TikTok.
TikTok began restoring service to users in the United States following a temporary and voluntary shutdown that lasted less than a day. The company said Sunday that it was in the process of reinstating access after President-elect Donald Trump vowed to issue an executive order to restore the app.
So to be clear, in 2019 Trump used an executive order to begin the banning of Tic Tok. In April of 2024 he blames this on Biden, pretending he hadn't started anything. He also conveniently said it was to help out his buddies at Meta, which is a weird thing to remember when he takes Zuckerburg's money and has him bending the knee(or really, both). So now he's using an executive order to undo the thing he did that he blamed on Biden.
Oh, and he also had Musk give him $250 million to get elected and use his actual misinformation social media platform to do actual election interference, since that's a big Trump concern.
This, my friends, is who we have to negotiate the survival of our country with. I don't have high hopes.

The way the Biden Administration messed up the TikTok thing was a masterclass in incompetence.
Trump initially wanted to ban it, which Biden overturned. But then for some reason Biden and the Democrats changed their mind and supported banning it. Which, whatever; it's terrible politically, but what made it worse was that for some reason the administration scheduled things so the ban would take effect 1 day before the end of Biden's term. So now Trump gets to swoop in as the white knight and "save" a platform that half the country (and most young people) use, even when he was the one that tried to ban it in the first place.
Whereas if Biden had just kicked the can down the road a few weeks or months, it would've been mostly a non-issue that Trump could deal with on his own, for good or bad.

Number 1 will always be: The J6 trial for Trump being delayed and bungled so much by the DOJ dragging their feet.
So yeah, what you stated above is par for the course.
Here's the part where Musk pushes Trump to include opening up foreign countries to unfettered American influence as part of trade deals. Who benefits? Ya.

I'm still shocked you were shocked that you share ideology with Steve Bannon.
