The Dallas Cowboys are in the early stages of their search to replace Mike McCarthy as head coach, but one name is already known: former Cowboys cornerback and current Colorado coach Deion Sanders.

A source said Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones and Sanders spoke Monday, and while an interview has not been scheduled, the two are expected to continue their dialogue. Fox Sports first reported the conversation between the two sides.

tired of this ####. How Tomlin's job security is 100 percent despite the perennial mediocrity and an obvious lack of accountability is beyond me.

The Pickens thing isn't surprising, obviously. He'll be the CFL's problem in a year or two tops.

If Pickens won't put in the effort when there's millions on the line, why would he for tens of thousands in the CFL? More than likely once he's out of the NFL he's done with football.

Only Charlie Frye and Doug Pederson had worse production.

According to multiple players, those mistakes weren’t pointed out in film sessions, frustrating at least a few veterans who believed Stefanski wouldn’t criticize Watson in front of the team. When Jameis Winston replaced Watson after he tore his Achilles in October, players said Stefanski returned to pointing out the quarterback’s mistakes in film sessions.

He has settled more than 20 lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct since he arrived from Houston.

Players told me there was a constant heaviness surrounding Watson in the locker room and that they felt a different energy in the building upon his departure after his Achilles injury in October. A couple of veterans told me it felt like a cloud had been lifted.

The Bears recently called the Steelers to see whether they would be allowed to talk to and potentially try to trade for longtime head coach Mike Tomlin, only to have Pittsburgh rebuff their inquiry, league sources told ESPN.

I saw that Todd Monkin interviewed with the Bears. If they can't get Ben Johnson it seems to me that Monkin might be not much different. He's had the Ravens offence running like a precision machine these past two years.

feels like both Bears and Jets are interviewing anybody with a pulse. Both have interviewed 15 candidates so far I believe. Crazy stuff.

Tennessee State coach Eddie George will interview in person with the Bears on Sunday, a league source told ESPN. George, whose career as an NFL running back spanned nine seasons, is the third candidate to have an in-person interview with Chicago, which has conducted 16 first-round interviews thus far.
