Fact is Johnson skated right though Andersson and Bahl
Yeah, I'm not so fussed about the one handed thing - lots of players use one hand to gather the puck in and it goes fine. Weegar uses one handed moves a lot.

I think we do tend to overanalyze plays if they lead to goals or of they are by a whipping boy. People are on Kadri and Huberdeau for giveaweays all the time, including if a defender has a "good stick" or it's just a 50-50 battle for the puck. But I bet of a person watches, say, Zary over an entire game and counts, he gives the puck away as often - he just doesn't get noticed because people like him.

On this play the mistake, IMO, was Kadri not adapting quick enough when the puck didn't settle for him.

It is not ridiculous. He reached back with one hand to move the puck because he wanted to keep skating. That caused the turnover. All he had to do was turn into the play and use 2 hands, to make sure he got it out. He didn't, he chose the lazy play, and turned the puck over, which led to the goal that changed the game.

It is ridiculous

It’s a routine play. Two hands and turning around kills the flow out of the zone

You should watch some hockey, and see how often players under no pressure pick up a puck one handed. I think you’ll find that it happens often

Puck likely skips and he overskates it, leaving Johnston a 1 on 2. That should be a low percentage likelihood of a goal.

That should be defended by 4 and 7. Johnston torched them

Good game for 45 minutes until the Stars goal against the flow of play changed the momentum.

If the Flames get good defence and goaltending they are in every game. When the goalie and first pairing D have off nights like this it can get ugly.

Come on, you're better than that.

People use one hand all the time, yes.

When you are inside your blueline, in a tie game in the 3rd period, and it is up to you to exit the zone, you put execution of that fact ahead of making a little one-handed play to try and keep your offensive positioning. It's defense 101. I knew he was going to #### it up, the moment he reached back with one hand. I guarantee the coach had the same thoughts.

Before telling me I should watch some hockey, maybe brush up on defensive responsibilities in your own zone. And maybe give some consideration to where it happened, along with the status of the game at the time.
