It was on display but there were no boxes near it. I asked a clerk and they found 4 of them deeper in the store, Country Hills Home Depot

Hmmm, I like the looks of that, plus it uses the same battery as my leaf blower and lawn mower

I had to drive to Canmore mid-morning yesterday. You know that hill after Calaway Park...you kind of go straight up and then on the other side is that gas station everyone meets at to carpool to the mountains? I was in 4WD with all four wheels spinning up the hill. It was fataing slick. Numerous cars in the ditch. No real strugglers that I saw, but probably only averaged about 85km/h for the trip. Made me feel sleepy.

Thank you indeed. My elderly mother lives in a small town and has a neighbor who does her sidewalks in the winter. That's really the only way her walks will ever get done.

After using it I'm quite impressed. Way more power than the old Snow Joe corded blower I had before and it's really good at getting underneath hardpacked snow and ice. Really quiet too, unless you're hitting big chunks of ice your neighbors won't even know you're out there

I, too, am trading out the corded one for a cordless snow blower.
It's fascinating to me how many people don't have snow blowers. Like, everybody has a lawn mower, but statistically in this city you probably use a snow blower more in a given year. And shoveling snow is a tougher job than mowing the lawn.

Yeah I used to have no issue with shoveling but now I get 4 minutes into and my back is screwed for the rest of the day.
Power tools ftw

I didn't get one until a few years ago, and only because my driveway got longer. I only used it once last year. I can see why people don't have them. Until recently, gas was the only option, and you need a place to put that beast. I have a plug in electric because I'm cheap, and at the time battery ones were still questionable.

On the topic of snow clearing, what happened with the City’s 311 request for this? There is a lot of neglect on sidewalks.

It's the first option on the 311 app

Man, that sounds like a good deal... Is this a company, or a kid with a shovel?

I got sick and tired of needing to move the tangled and frozen cord around to use it as well as bullwhipping myself in the face with the cord on occasion trying to move it.
I went with a single stage gas because I got a spanking good deal on it (I honestly wonder if it was a coding error).
I considered a battery one, but I didn't want a new battery ecosystem. Since I have an extra wide driveway + sidewalk + neighbor sidewalk + occasionally do the road, so I didn't want to spend $500+ and then a few hundred more on more batteries which would be incompatible with any of my other tools and equipment.

I didn't think I needed a snow blower when we moved to our new house 2 years ago, first few snowfalls were light and I had no issue shoveling it all. Then we got a big wet dump of snow and I ended up throwing out my back. Bought a blower the next day

I mean, this could be interpreted in a myriad of ways.
That being said, I'm rolling with the recycled dinosaurs and its going well.

Shoveling snow is a reasonable alternative to using a snow blower to remove snow. There is no reasonable alternative to mowing in order to cut grass.
