Still waiting for confirmation of if this is just a horrible rumor or a horrible truth, but my Facebook feed is suggesting that Ryan Jimmo has passed. A great east coast boy who I was very fortunate to have met numerous times. Not a huge name in the MMA world for anyone outside of New Brunswick or Edmonton, but he was a great guy. Super humble. Great guy all around.
Wow I read about this in The Edmonton Journal today and they didn't release any names. Then I pop over to MMA Junkie and he's splashed across the front banner. "Dead at 34 from hit and run". I didn't think it was the same incident but it as. Very sad news all around, RIP. Suspects fled down the wrong land eastbound on Whyte Ave, which surprises me because at 2:15 AM the cops would almost certainly be in that area.
Sad. The few details that have been released make it sound like a road rage incident or an altercation stemming from something else. Ryan had allegedly got out of his truck and had some words with the driver of the blue pick-up. As he was returning to his vehicle he was struck by the blue pick-up.
