In defense of Reaper, I wouldn't check the date from something I bought off a shelf either.

Don't blame you for not checking the expiry date. It's something I tend to overlook too...

But Orange Milk? ORANGE MILK? duuuude.

In any case, assuming you're healthy you probably are only going to experience a nasty day on the toilet. Nothing in there that will cause serious harm.

Should I start a thread about the undercooked chicken in the souvlaki wrap I had for lunch yesterday?

Ya, that stuffs nice, but isn't it kind of cruel to make TP out of kitten pelts?

You don't have any time for that. You need to update your will and get your affairs in order.

This never happens to me because I smell all my food before I consume it. And I check dates compulsively. A bit ocd, but ever since I guzzled a skunky beer in grade 11 I was traumatized!

I find that when I'm in this situation, minus the Orange Milk... who drinks that... really, that I go into overdrive trying to find things wrong with me.

I would imagine that if it's over a month past the date, and you weren't chewing it, you're not going to die. But if explosive diahrea is your concern, I wouldn't rule it out.

There's no way for even a doctor to know exactly what's going to happen to you, but for what it's worth, I've drank pre-stale dated Milk that's gone sour, and not crapped myself.

I'd be surprised if you get more than the heartburn you're feeling now, and maybe some butterflies/aches in the tummy.

But as someone else stated... Dammit Reap, I'm a banker, not a Doctor.

I've stopped buying milk from convenience stores because of this problem. Sometimes we've bought milk with a longer expiry date from 7-11 and it still tastes 'off' I'm not sure if it's their refrigerators or what but I steer clear of them now.

As for your problem. Personally, on the few (5 ish!) occasions that I've drank bad milk usually it has caused me no problems whatsoever except for the initial "urgh!" One time though it gave me horrendous stomach cramps and eventually the runs. All fun and games.

Ahh, but the milk itself was still from the time of the Bush administration...

Oh man... Milk 2 Go? That stuff has like an 8 month expiry window. You just drank milk from last April.

Since it was Milk2Go, you're probably fine. There's a difference between "expired" and "spoiled".

Regular milk can house harmful bacteria after the expiry date and the worst that can happen is you get ecoli or some sort of bacterial infection in your intestines.

You haven't responded to this thread in a while though, so you may already be dead.

Why not?

I always do. Not to see if it's expired but to see if the ones in the back expire at a later date than the ones in the front

There was probably enough preservatives in that "milk product" to keep it good for quite a while.

If it tasted fine, you are probably fine. If your really worried about it, I suggest you make an appointment with Mr. Pukey.
