Default Jack Layton dies at 61

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/stor...-obituary.html

RIP. I was fearful this was the ending we'd be looking at.

Heard this on the radio. Sad to hear.

No matter which colours you fly, it can't be denied that he had an true passion for this country. RIP

Wow. Layton did not look long for this world during that last news conference but this came quickly. Gone too early, that's for sure.

He didn't look good at the last press conference, but now he can finally rest.

It might be surprising how early this is, but I don't think the news itself is.

Too bad as he really was one of the more charismatic politicians Canada has seen in a long long time.

Amazing how energetic he was in the Election only 3+ months ago, taking the NDP to heights never seen and then cancer just sapped it all away.

I didn't like his politics and would never vote for the NDP, but Layton was, by far, the best of the three federal party leaders. If both the Liberals and CPC had leaders like Jack representing the views of their parties' voters in Parliament, Canadian politics would be so much better. %#!$ cancer indeed.
