I have done a fair bit of mushrooms in the past and outside of sore abdominal muscles from constant laughing and hallucinations I don't recall ever getting violent like that nor my friends. It does sound like this guy was on a bad trip but I'm not sure that excuses what he did. Maybe they don't need to throw the book at him but some sort of punishment should be appropriate as she's permanently disabled now and is lucky he didn't kill her.
I could see it if he didn’t willfully take the drugs, but he did, or maybe even possibly if they were spiked, which they weren’t, so he should be required to face the consequences of his actions.
I guess the lesson to be learned here is don’t drink and drive. Or get absolutely ####faced and drive.
I think there should be a license program. If you can pay $200,000 you get a unlimited bag on killing human poachers, with the money going to conservation efforts.
That's right if you raise $200,000 for yourself you can legally kill scum bags. For an extra $10k, your kills will be stuffed to your specifications.

Have you heard of Damien Hander, the International Anti Poaching Foundation, and their militaristic approach to fighting poachers? There are still some good people out there.

I'm not going to defend poaching but the scumbags you are talking about are dirt poor locals living on and trying to feed a family on about what we spend on Starbucks.

The books removed in Mat-Su are classic works with long histories in American classrooms: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou, Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien.
Someone actually thought they should ban these books in Alaska schools. The Things They Carried is my all time favorite. You can't read any other book correctly without reading that book. And I know Why the Caged Bird Sings? You've got to be kidding me. The Great Gatsby? Why? My goodness what is wrong with people?

There's so many movies, a lot of them quasi-comedic. At this point it's basically cosplay. Not much different than dressing up as a pirate or a storm troopers IMO.
I think you might want to watch Life is Beautiful again. Guido is walking like that because he knows his son can see him from his hiding place. He 100% knows he’s being marched to his death, he’s trying to save his kid.
