The Flames have recalled forward Dryden Hunt from the Calgary Wranglers of the American Hockey League.

In addition, forward Cole Schwindt and goaltender Dustin Wolf have been assigned to the Wranglers and netminder Dan Vladar has been activated from the Injured Reserve.

They forgot the in addition to these moves Jacob Markstrom has been traded to the New Jersey Devils for everything.

Schwindt hasn't impressed with the big club at all. His NHL stat line is kind of grim.

Probably training camp before he has another chance to impress at the NHL level.

That was my thought originally but if (team) is sending a goalie back it would make more sense.

according to Capfriendly, Wolf's recall was an 'emergency loan'. So, presumably, as soon as Vladar comes off IR, Wolf must be returned

Wolf was up on an emergency recall because Vladar's injury meant they didn't have 2 healthy goalies. In order to activate Vladar today, Wolf has to be sent back to the AHL.

The bigger tells will be if Markstrom practices this morning and/or the Wranglers send Murphy back to the ECHL.

Schwindt hasn’t looked good at all. It’s not the basic skills, it’s more the lack of strength and compete. He needs to battle way harder for the puck if he wants to be a NHL player. For 4th line guy, he needs an injection of Pospisil blood.

Small sample size but yes... not a great showing. He's won faceoffs but statistically that's his only positive contribution.

Good, Hunt deserves it. He has been great for the Wranglers. I'm glad he's finally back from his injury.

I think he'll be better than what he showed at the start of the year.

Vanecek is on IR himself. If the trade happens as expected Wolf probably gets recalled again anyways.
