He passed on Pool Party at the draft so that probably bought him a few extra years.

Mind you almost every list I've seen had Tkachuk ahead of PLD. So he also passed on Chucky.

Chuck Fletcher levels of ineptitude.

They kept Jarmo (until now) and let Bill Zito walk to Florida. Whoops.

I think that maybe just finding a Assistant GM from a quality team like Tulsky in Carolina would be a better option. A fresh voice may be better than someone who was affectionately known here has Tubby McBlowhard
My point is have Burke in as babysitter temporarily while Nash and scouting staff handle draft. Why would Tulsky leave Carolina mid season? They wouldn't allow it.

Burke is available and probably ok with a 4 month contract. CBJ need some continuity so keep a few people. Burke was legit good for us when he is working at 30,000 foot level exec level. I don't like his drafting. But i liked how he handled Feaster, bringing in Treliving, some trades, etc.

Tulsky is probably the most sought after AGM in the league, and I doubt he'd choose Columbus out of all potential locations. It would be great for them if they could land him though.

The only thing I know is that Gaudreau got paid and has so far underperformed on his contract.
Agree about Gaudreau.

As for the rest I think we may have seen Huby traded at the deadline. Or if Gaudreau stays, maybe it changes the return for Tkachuk. It's plausible Huby would still have got the same deal as you said. Fun to speculate.

Well they have a recent history of being extremely patient with the GM and money talks so if they offer enough, anything could happen. The person that turns around that organization will be looked at as a savior.

Also let CHris McFarland go to Colorado to hire Zito in the first place.
