I know it’s only one game, but if he’s the guy that gets Huberdeau going they won’t be trading him.

How can you not like this player?

Imagine if we did make the playoffs though. Would be hilarious considering most of us have written off the season (because we need to go .700).

I am impressed with his wrist shot and his enthusiasm… it’s infectious!

In my opinion, that was Huby’s best game as a member of the Calgary Flames.

He looked dangerous on almost every shift and could have had at least 2 more goals and several assists…

Please go play like that against the Devils…

Good stuff…

For 120+ games, this team didn't have a top line. Against Boston it did. All three players looked great, and Huberdeau specifically looked like a superstar again, for the first time.

This is a legitimate 'breath of fresh air' for the organization, including right in the locker room it seems. It is a one game sample size, so who knows? However, the counter-argument is that everything starts with a one-game sample size.

If he brings out uber Huber, trading him next year would be a huge mistake.

If he brings that out in Huberdeau, you sign him to a 4-5 year extension.

Man that's a happy locker room !!! Good to see. Get some swagger going .

Who knows? If we get a goalie , run.support maybe we CAN squeak in ? We'd deserve.it.
I hope no one in that locker room takes a shift off or their team mates who are speaking that forbidden word for granted.

Not sure you have to go .700. The last wildcard spot is trending to 90 points. They don’t need to play at a .700 pace to get there.

Yeah, it's still unlikely, but it won't take .700. The current race:

8) STL +5
9) NSH +3
10) CGY +2
10) SEA +2
12) ARI +0

So the Flames are 1 and 1/2 games back (which is still significant), and they are in the middle of the pack in a race with 5 teams.

Doable? Absolutely. Likely? No. Probably point total required? 90-92

16-10-5 (.638) gets them to 90 pts

But get on a bit of a roll here, and get to the front of that race, and suddenly everyone's mindset changes. Confidence is a funny thing. So is having a clear goal and determination.

There's no one particularly strong on that group, so it's definitely possible.
However competing with 5 teams for 1 spot makes the odds low.

If it means anything, the Flames goal differential is by far the best in the group.

So, at least one team, and probably two, will have a strong finish to the season such that the actual playoff bar will be in the 92-93 range. That seems to be how it always goes. If your team is one of the ones that has that run you've got a shot. If you keep just playing steady .570 hockey, you don't.
