Talking about this one thing; What can we do to show Patrick Laine some support. Have there been any tweets from the Flames or other tweets letting him know that teams, fans are thinking about him. I hope that this can be turned around into something very positive, creating awareness that it's okay to seek support when you need it.

Some really good comments from posters on here about the need to feel comfortable seeking help.

This reminds me of that boy who got bullied, he posted on the internet crying saying that "it's just not right". A lot of celebrities stepped in and showed him support and let him know that he was valued and special. I hope that people will let Patrick Laine know, that he is valued and appreciated, and that we all support and encourage him in his recovery.

I think it should be pointed out that Patrick Lane has been dead since 2019.

Oh dude, I take no disrespect. I barely even knew who Patrick Lane was, I was just busting your chops a little.

I hope they lose whatever (hopefully) meager following they had and don't add any new followers due to the notoriety they just gained.

Brutal. At the end of the day, we're still dealing with human beings. No matter how "well" off they might be by certain metrics, it doesn't negative the human aspect of it.

I felt the apology was sincere, but there isn't any coming back from this kind of mistake.

There are some things you don't make jokes about and this is one of them.

I made a 'we love Irish Republicans, don't we folks' joke on a podcast once and had a heart to heart with a buddy who's wife grew up in Belfast.

I know, cool story right?

I honestly can't tell if it was sincere. Easily could be they feel bad that everyone is yelling at them. They seem like total muppets.

Even Awful Announcing's account posted on this.

Just to say that although not everyone may not like guys like Francis or other media members in Calgary, they've never done something this stupid. It's a bummer to see these kinds of things

He was probably the most entertaining Flame in history! Way more entertaining than McDavid.

Too bad he chose the worst team possible to be closer/not closer to home.

it's pretty common sense though... What's the worst? Roger Millions and his chickensucker comment?

It's not the 1980s where you can tell dead baby jokes or aids jokes in public.

Points, maybe but as far as impact he's just outside for me. But I'm old and remember a lot of the first gen more.

Gaudreau looks like he's aged 10 years since he moved to Columbus.
