I like to pre-board so I can settle in and start a movie. Noise cancelling headphones so I can totally ignore everything around me. I also like having my overhead cargo dealt with, and I always sit window so no one bugs me.
I loathe flying with other, less experienced flyers. Stressing over check in times, security lines and standing around the gate like a deer in headlights waiting for boarding drives me MENTAL. Even the most laid back people get all squirrelly when it comes to flying, and the remote possibility they might miss the flight seems to make people panic with anxiety until they are in their seat.
Me on the other hand.....totally opposite. I've woken up at 5:15 AM in Marda Loop and still made a 6AM flight to Van. That's my current record. Even had time for coffee at the gate LOL

Air Canada use to be located in T3 but they are now located in T2. As with T3 and T5, T2 is Call-To-Gate but more like T5. I think YYC will be more like T3.
|
I hated T3, crowded and felt like a bomb bunker with duty free shopping. Most of all, no plane watching.
T5 you can just settle in at Wagamama and watch the planes roll by.

WestJet announces their new YYC-London-Gatwick route to go year round from seasonal (flights start May 6):
CALGARY, Jan. 6, 2016 /CNW/ - WestJet today announced it is extending two of its new non-stop transatlantic services to London (Gatwick) from seasonal to year-round. Flights from Calgary and Toronto to London will now operate on a year-round basis, three times weekly and daily respectively through the winter.

I only rush to board when I am flying with carry on baggage only. Too often I see people who get on late with carry on have to check their bags and that ruins the convenience of traveling carry on only.

Wonder what that says about Hawaii. Year round to Europe will take up 1.5 aircraft so call it two. With only four in the fleet that leaves two for Hawaii in the winter. I guess that probably works out but it's interesting nonetheless. Makes me wonder if the low $CDN is taking a toll on U.S routes and Hawaii in particular. It also leaves practically no chance to run the 767's anywhere else in the winter so longer reach sun destinations (Dominican Republic from western Canada, Panama etc.) now seem unlikely as potential expansaion possibilities for Westjet now.

American Airlines is dropping YYC-PHX effective June 1st, the route may go seasonal (most likely over winter).

Probably because they always cancelled the flights anyways. I'm 0-3 taking the us airways early morning flight.

Crappy, cuts a lot of connections. They still codeshare on the Westjet flights, so there's that but that 6 am PHX flight was nice for connections.

It's Calgary, duh. There could be inclement weather in the terminal.

It looks like the top is open, so it's probably more to ensure people are enclosed when riding, so they can't just jump off (or fall off) halfway down the path.

Looks like a plywood cut out of a bus for a high school play. Sweet 5 stars though.
