The Stars defeated the Buffalo Sabres in six games to win the Cup in 1999 and lost to the New Jersey Devils in six games in 2000.
The North Stars lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games in the 1991 Cup Final.
The Lightning won the Stanley Cup in 2004, defeating the Calgary Flames in seven games, and lost a six-game Final to the Chicago Blackhawks in 2015.

I think Dallas will win...Tampa can't match them physically
goaltending is the only thing I can see swaying the series to Tampa

Kind of funny in a year where there have been arguments around an asterisk going by the cup winner, we get a cup final featuring two teams whose only Cup wins arguably should have asterisks by them. Who will get the historic double asterisk?

Dallas got their only Cup win because of a goal that probably shouldn't have counted.
Tampa got their only Cup win because of a non-goal that probably should have counted.

It’s only bad luck when the WC champ touches their trophy. Or doesn’t touch it. Wait, that’s wrong. It’s good luck for the East champ to touch it. But not too much, otherwise they’ll go blind.

Hoping Dallas takes it so we can at least say we lost to the SC Champs. Dallas can beat them-they are too big and physical for TB.

Normally, you never want to see a sweep in the final.
I would love to see Dallas swept.
That being said I think they push the Bolts around enough to stretch it out.

I don’t dislike the Bolts now in particular but have a permanent grudge as it was in

Damn, pretty much word for word what I was gonna say. The Stars have good players, but lots of them are Flames' killers over their careers. Especially Pavelski. And Perry....god help us if he wins it again.
I actually like the 'Bolts players, but it's pretty much illegal to cheer for them since '04. And I say that as somebody who had them as my #2 team until '04. But guys like Hedman, Kucherov and Stamkos are easy to cheer for.
I guess begrudgingly I'm rooting for Tampa. But this is the only time I will say that out loud.
At the very least I hope it goes to game 7 triple OT.
