This is a team more than possibly any that needs veteran credibility. I applauded them when they tried the Chayka experiment because it was out of the box but given the situation they’re in they should’ve looked harder to getting a name brand with credibility.

Like when Calgary hired Burke after Jay Feaster.

He has been with the Blues since 2004, first as a scout, then Director of Amateur Scouting, starting in 2010, and he added AGM to his resume last season.
The Blues had a good number of draft picks on their Cup-winning team last season.

What does it feel like to be a Coyotes fan right now? It has to be tough.
Team has no 1st round pick in 2020 or 2021, no 2nd round pick in 2020. Just lost Bahl and Merkley.
OEL and Kuemper pretty openly on the market.
Is it just strap in for a plummet to the bottom of the standings?

Tomorrow the Arizona Coyotes are expected to officially announce Bill Armstrong as their next GM. Hearing he’ll be agreeing to a 5 year contract worth north of $1 million per. #Yotes#

Good for Arizona, hope this brings some respectability to the org.

Peak Coyotes fandom: Solve 10 year hunt for dream billionaire owner, Pandemic hits affecting billionaire owners primary lines of business, moron hack snake oil sales man trades 1st overall to team for star, wants to work for said team, all the while loses original team's other 1st and 2nd rounders
Cliffnotes: ####ing brutal!

Yeah, from the outside everything looks like a damn disaster and you’ve got a few really dark years ahead of you. Best bet seems to be a true scorched earth rebuild - including prime aged/younger players.
...but at least the Kachina jersey is back in the fold! That thing is a beauty.

Armstrong's nickname should be the janitor, because he is going to have to be cleaning up a hell of a mess that Chayka made.

I hope wherever Chia ends up next, he excels, and becomes the next in a long line of ex-Oilers personnel that thrive elsewhere like Schultz, Dubnyk, etc.

Pretty much. I thought with ownership being in media they'd go for a media personality. thank god that wasn't the case.
This is a solid hire

Blues have made the condition of the hiring that Armstrong will not be able to participate in the 2020 draft. May not be a big deal considering the Coyotes don't draft until the 4th round. But may be less of an incentive for Armstrong to acquire any picks.
Lou Korac
@lkorac10
Doug Armstrong on Bill Armstrong/this year's draft: "We did make an agreement with Arizona and with Bill that he won't participate in any fashion with this year's draft with Arizona. All the work that he's done is basically information for the St. Louis Blues." #stlblues

Seems the Coyotes are cleaning house. Assistant GM Lindsay Hofford is also out the door.
