Could the stamps play in the same stadium as the flames? Is there anywhere that does it? I know basketball and hockey can transition but football?

In all seriousness - this is all great news. So much potential to build this area into something awesome. CMLC is also highly capable of pulling this off really well.
I'd like to see a district anchored by the arena and a large farmer's market (fits with Stampede's mandate and helps make it a year round denstination) - supported by retail, restaurants and bars, improved streets and public spaces, high density residential as well as the Green Line LRT.

I'm also in favor of this plan vs. CalgaryNEXT. That plan was too much of a stretch with absolutely nothing there already. Imagine Red Mile(TM) part 2 at some point!

Size of a CFL field is 150 yards (137 m) long and 65 yards (59 m) wide. More than twice the length and twice the width.

Well - you were only partly right - so partial cheque? I think the better plan is to put the stadium closer to the green line LRT for transportation purposes and as well to get it out of Stampede lands to resolve that current entanglement.

Actually, since I drew this it's been determined the Green Line LRT will be on 12th Ave rather than the originally planned 10th, so this is a bit out of date now. The latest I hear is that the station will be around 5th Street SE.

It'd almost be a miss to have two ctrain stations in close but no cigar range. I'm sure we're all veterans of that odd walk from Victoria Park Station to the Saddledome and it never fails to make me chuckle what an oddity it is. Outside, inside, outside, overwalk that does nothing but create a wind tunnel.
Just some random thoughts. Getting the Greenline LRT and the new Stadium to sync is a must IMO.

Came to post Bunk's already completed plan. Leaving satisfied.
Really though, this is great news! So much better from a city planning perspective.
Squeezing in a football stadium WITHOUT a roof will be icing on the cake. I'll take an unrenovated McMahon over a brand new state of the art indoor stadium any day.
