From what I understand initial assessments on Gaudreau points to him being fine however we will know more on #Flames game day tomorrow. Gaudreau was forced to leave last night's game by #NHL spotters following a hit from McAvoy in the 3rd

Concussion spotters should remove more players. That's just an opinion, but if anyone can explain why Johnny was removed but Valimaki wasn't, I'd like to know.

Update: #Flames fans can breathe easy as Johnny Gaudreau is fine and feeling no significant effects of the hit by Charlie McAvoy that prompted concussion spotters to remove him from the game last night. League will not discipline McAvoy. Case closed, even if debate continues.

I think I'll be alone in this, but I really do think the stick was accidental - and the hit on Johnny was fine.
I'd have reversed the penalties though. Accidental or not, that's 2mins for high sticking.
I was fine with McAvoy going to make a hit on Johnny, what I didn't like was how his gloves/elbow/forearms were projected upwards towards Johnny's face/head.
That part of the hit is unacceptable IMO.

But to roll your eyes and shake your head at Hathaway for hitting the ice after he got stick toed the face was crazy.
I was at home yammering on about my 'review for a penalty' theory at home when it happened. Accidental play that put a stick in the face, and then a follupup disregard for the potential repercussions of it. 2 mins to curb behaviour.
