Every single one of these things is a team statistic.

For whatever reason, these stats point to an elite goalie of historical proportion yet I always get the impression people don't value him in the same category as Roy, Brodeur etc. Why is that? Why do I hear people say things like "Ohh, he had Crosby and Malkin"?
I always found that strange.

Cause he was only the starter for one of those cups, to start.

Fleury may not be perfect, but I don't think anyone can deny that he isn't a legitimate starting goalie and is good enough to give his team a chance to win on most nights.
It's so extremely hard to find a #1 goalie in this league. Many become "#1" goalies if you just look at games played, but IMO, that is because supply is so low.
Out of 31 teams, I personally feel there only about 15-20 goalies worthy of being a true #1. Fleury is at least among that group.

His age, injury problems, and inconsistencies make this contract scary to me. He had his best season yet, so the timing of that worked out for him.

He's 33 and that isn't that old for a goalie. The term only takes him to 36, which will be an older goalie, but Vegas can handle the salary.

He'll turn 34 less than 2 months into next season and this contract doesn't start until the following season. The vast majority of this new contract will be played beyond his 35th birthday.

Vast majority of only a three year contract. And most top goalies play well past 35.

Turns 34 at the beginning of the season and this contract starts after next season, so he will be 35 at the start of this contract. MAF has a lot of miles on his body as well. Long playoff runs a d coming into the league early. Good player, but risky. No reason they couldn't wait a bit.

$7M in the new cap going forward isn't as much of a risk a second you think, especially with a CBA coming and probably more buyout abilities.

Always thought he was a bum in Pittsburgh. He had some disastrous years, won a cup with some of the worst stats ever for a starting goalie, and got pulled for a backup for his last 2 cups. But, this last year in Vegas somewhat changed my opinion of him.

And this had nothing to do with him being a Penguin I’m sure.
