I’d be on board with using OT losses in tie breaker scenario’s too.

For example if the Flames and Habs each have 24 wins the team with fewer regulation losses gets the first tiebreaker.

But if the Flames have 25 wins and the Habs have 24 then it doesn’t matter because the Flames won more games, which is the whole point.

We could potentially have three more wins than Montreal and miss the playoffs. I don’t care what anyone says, that’s chicken ####.

Lol the Flames is not a playoff team under any circumstances

Good that they don’t get another chance to embarrass themselves

Very true,

However, the first round was referenced.

Game Takes: Flames 4 Canucks 1

- Flames top line sizzling once again
- Game swings back and forth for momentum
- Jacob Markstrom solid after giving up a goal in the first minute.

I am really not too bothered by draft positioning this year. Like I stated before, the top 10 could have looked way different had the season played out as normal. Some kids didn't get much of a look this year. Limited games, new situations, even the stress of the pandemic. Every year there are usually big changes in the draft - risers and fallers.

To move up and down a couple of spots isn't a big deal this year. Last year? More important. Next year? Hopefully if this pandemic gets under control, it will be more important. This year is more of a crap-shoot - your scouts still have to do their homework, but it is an even bigger moving target that they have to hit.

Is there an advantage of picking earlier? Of course there is, but this year it is just less of an advantage.

Besides, don't need to worry. Flames are due for a lottery win.

Flames are gearing up to restore balance to the universe next (real) season.

I like it.

Or have regulation wins be worth 3 points. In that hypothetical scenario, the Flames would now be 7 points back of the Habs with 9 points still up for grabs.

Sorry, but I refuse to cheer for a loss. Just not gonna happen.

Cheerleading a losing culture just isn’t my thing.

Nobody's cheering for a loss. We're just also not cheering for a win.

As Flames fans, cheerleading a losing culture is literally all we do.

Why are you a Flames fan if that is the case. There is no winning culture there.

I'm happy for the win but it feels to me like we still have a ways to go to be a contender.

In the 2021 NHL a culture that overplays never-were vets like Nesterov and Nordstrom while more talented, NHL-ready youth face a glass ceiling to their development, development that can only happen with consistent and big ice time..

IS a losing culture.
