Not really surprising as if the owner wasn't happy about the team's play this season you had to think that the axe was going to swing further than the GM and president.

Makes sense to let Drury get in his own coach.

The New York Rangers have such an incredible and young talent pool. It'll be interesting to see who they bring in and what they'll be able to do with the team.

Justified or lack of patience? Lots of talent there but I think this points to the lack of patience owners have when it comes to their expectation to compete. I figured NYR would start to really compete in a couple years, not this year.

Ward is available. I'd love to see them sign Kruger then trade for Eichel lol.

It has to be to Torts! I need more battles between him and Brooksie in my life.

Clean house. It'll be interesting what Drury has in store for his roster.

Really their record of 27-23-6 is pretty impressive when you consider how many games they had to play against the Penguins, Islanders, Bruins, and Capitals. This isn't nearly the same as the Flames playing a lot of games against the Leafs, Oilers, Jets, and Habs as I suspect only the Leafs would make the playoffs in that division and I'm not even sure that's a given. From an outsider perspective it looks to me like they were on a good trajectory and this season was a bad one to hold extremely high expectations given the level of their competition.

I haven't really been following Lafrenière this year but he was quite hyped for last year's draft. Was his year considered to be disappointing and maybe they felt he wasn't handled correctly by the coach?

I know for a fact that the Rangers have spoke to Gerard Gallant numerous times and he is in New York right now meeting with them.

Can’t be, I’ve been told Bob Hartley will never work in the NHL again

He won’t. And even if you like him - there are three better coaches available right now.
