Local, i really like Five'21 Roasters. Also to a lesser extent Heritage and Devils Head. Personal Preference though.
I will often go to Luke's Drug Mart and pick up some Stumptown

I generally stick with Fratello since its local, online free delivery (over $35) and decent selections of some good medium roasts.

Random question on the Chemex - where have you been able to find paper filters? I have a metal Kone filter for mine, but wanted to try paper during the past year (more time on my hands) and they seemed to be sold out everywhere.
For beans, I've been buying 90% Monogram for the last year. They are not far from home, roast dates are fresh, and they have their bulk bean program going again so I can just bring a canister to pick some up. Less packaging. The owners are good guys and I really like their roasts for both espresso and brewed coffee. Other roasters I like are Rosso and Phil & Seb. For a treat, I will check out Luke's for Stumptown, 49th, etc.
The vast majority of my coffee these days is espresso, brewed is for the weekends while I sit and read the paper or whatever. My espresso setup is 15+ year old Quickmill machine and Mazzer grinder. I just keep maintaining it and it keeps working. Some of the new PID dual boiler machines and single dose grinders are pretty sexy but my stuff works. Maybe when I get kids done school and have a bit more $ I'll step up to a Linea Mini or GS3.
I like the simplicity of the Chemex, my wife bought me a programmable gooseneck kettle and that has improved things tremendously. Easy to dial in temperature and control the pour.
Add to this all the extra brewing bits (aeropress, spare grinders), cups, coffee storage, etc and I have an admittedly excessive setup. Luckily I have an indulgent spouse who can be bought off for a couple of really good cups a day.
Oh, and it has been mentioned a few times on the site, but I am really getting into the James Hoffman Youtube videos. His brewing guides are excellent and really helpful.

This is the thread for me!
Discovery coffee, Bright Jenny coffee, Monogram coffee and Rouge Wave Coffee Roasters are some of my favourite places to purchase coffee.
Pour over, french press, aeropress, you name it! haha

my longstanding Kona bean addiction (specifically Greenwell Farms) is keeping me on the brink of bankruptcy, especially with increased work from home consumption rate. but I have no choice but to continue as I haven't found a more economical way to get that aloha flavor from a local source.
there are Calgary roasters that have Kona as an option, but it isn't any cheaper than ordering direct from the island. overall prices are up too because of climate-related shortages. this is getting into Jamaican blue mountain wild goose chase territory.

I use stove top percolator, Aeropress, Espro and Hario pour over regularly.
Grinder I use a Hario slim burr grinder and an electric burr grinder I nabbed from Costco last year.
Water I use a vacuum kettle and I can check water temp and I used to use a glass Breville temperature programmable kettle until it broke recently. I have a gooseneck teapot I can use if needed too for more accurate pours.
I'm finishing off some beans from Portland and San Fran which were gifts from friends. Local is usually Rosso, sometimes monogram and the occasional Phil and Sebastian's. IDGAF baseline for inexpensive coffee is Lavazza beans. I would love to try and roast some myself in the coming months, now that I am not as busy at work.

We have a Breville Bambino Express. Best purchase of the pandemic. We use kind of a #### OXO grinder which we need to replace sooner or later with something proper.

So umm... stupid question. I have a Hario slim hand ceramic burr grinder, but before I got the electric burr grinder, at times I didn't like turning the crank. So I attached my drill to turn it on a slowish pace (10-20% drill speed?) to grind.
Is this going to damage my grinder in the long run vs using the hand crank? I didn't dare just use the drill at full speed in case I wrecked the burrs doing so.

Actually. It isn't bad... if we spice it up. We put put the grounded coffee into the coffee maker and put some cinnamon on top of the coffee.
We do NOT do cinnamon when we have good coffee. We go to a local shop here in Lethbridge and try out different kinds they have. Those are treats.

Folger plus a pinch of salt is surprisingly good. Deep dark chocolate flavors. I have a client who makes this at her office and it always surprises me how decent it is.

Folger's black pressed is great. I grew up on the stuff, my old man would brew it with a pinch of salt. People think I'm weird when I do that.

My fave breakfast place we go to in Mexico has lots of cinnamon in their coffee, the taste flips that switch for me that I am happily on vacation.

What is everyone drinking these days? Roasting your own?
Good places to buy?
I have been buying some stuff from BuyCoffeeCanada, and they have some different stuff to try for good prices. Their cheap stuff is just that, cheap.
Not really worth it. Kicking Horse Coffee is WAY better on the cheap line.
Feel free to share.

I dunno, I had the knock off Blue mountain from buycoffee and the next day had kicking horse. I almost had to dump the kicking horse.
