He's out if Danny holds onto the ball. Good try though.

Is that pitch to Teoscar inside?
Yes.
Is it a 5-run game in the top of the 9th?
Also yes.
Strike 3.

It’s everywhere not just us. Dodgers lost May for the season. DeGrom and Burnes hurt among other pitchers. Springer and Yelich and other star hitters hurt. It’s bigger/stronger/faster pushed to ridiculous degrees and players bodies just can’t hold up, especially pitchers.

Schulman said it best. How often do you see an outfielder handcuffed by a line drive. What a rocket.

Vlad has to becoming one of the most feared hitters in baseball.
His eye is spot on.
When he hits it he rips it.
He’s like 2001 Barry Bonds as far as effectiveness and impact on every AB, except no roids and less HR

It's amazing how well their bullpen has done this year, with huge injuries too. What did they say tonight, 2nd in the majors in ERA? That's incredible.

In his last 3 starts Robbie Ray has 18.2 innings pitched with 23 strike outs and 0 walks. ZERO WALKS!
That's awesome. Too bad Matz has turned back into a bit of a pumpkin.

Yeah it’s really weird how Ray has gone from walking everyone to walking nobody with nothing in between.
Baseball is so weird

I’ve thought for a while that pitchers could stand to dial it back a bit. Like, if you can throw 96-97, you can probably also throw 92, 93 and locate it better, and develop good secondary pitches that make your fastball look quicker.
It’s so strange - nobody can stay healthy, but nobody goes more than 5 innings anymore, and everyone throws absurdly hard. Maybe something related to that - nobodies used to go seven strong, now you’re lucky if your staff Ace does it more than once a year, if that.
They’ll take guys out in the middle of a no-hitter. The #### is that. If you start a game and don’t give up any hits, you get to stay in the game until you do. That’s just good sports.
Less is more.

I doubt telling pitchers to throw 92 really works. Sure pitchers have been successful doing that but it’s the exception and not the rule. The guy throwing 95+ is going to get to the majors a lot more than the guy throwing 91. Sure he might get injured more along the way but the chances to make it are far higher. And those good secondaries are really independent from velocity. It’s not like the guy throwing 97 couldn’t have a 93 slider. It’s not like having less velocity makes it easier to develop good secondaries. Anyway velocity works and gives best results almost everyone goes for it. But it’s destructive and a lot of players get injured along the way.

3 nobodies have thrown no hitters this year. Complete games can still happen if a pitcher is on. It's all in executive's heads that a pitcher cannot face a lineup a third time or can't go past 90 pitches.

I am sure throwing hard is part of it, but baseball players are creatures of habit. They're used to playing almost every day for 6 months, or pitching every 5.2 days for 6 months or every 2.5 if you're a reliever. Then we had last year which included a ramp up and a stop, a ramp up and then a short season.
Now they are having to go back to their normal and their bodies are reacting to the lost time last year.
