I was on a road trip through N. California a few years ago and the area we were in was being warned about power outages starting that night (there was a massive forest fire in Napa)
I didnt think of it then but we stopped to grab gas and there were people with any type of container possible just filling it with gas. One lady had a large rain barrel in her truck box. I do not think it had a lid

Have people not learned anything over the years? Why are we still using plastic bags? Pump your gas into paper bags people.

Exactly! People have to think of the environment when doing this

Probably a good time to remind them that 91% of electricity in Alberta comes from fossil fuels, almost half of it being coal.

History of violence. Somehow makes parol three times before bull#### sentence is up, despite reoffending in the meantime. Gets released and oh so shockingly kills an innocent lady.
Why the #### do we keep putting up with allowing these people back into society?

Extra insufferable? That's like saying the Oilers are extra No Good. Insufferable is now an official synonym for Tesla owners.

We’re all (rightfully so) distraught with the realization of the historical atrocities of residential schools and the mistreatment of indigenous peoples.
I would really think that this occurring on a scale not seen since perhaps the Nazis would have garnered more attention. It’s one thing to wring hands over the past, but this should be weighing on the public conscience even more heavily. My generation may be reaping the rewards of a long past era mired in wrongdoings, but the majority of western society is actively selling their soul today.
As we seek reconcile our past, do we not have a responsibility to protect our present? We had a HoC committee make a declaration and some strong rhetoric from a few MPs. Civilized society as a whole needs to come together on this. This horror doesn’t have the complexities of civil war or famine… it’s purely state ran genocide.

It is ####ing disgusting what the Chinese gov't is doing.
What is worse is there are posters on here that defend the China.
Appalling
To be clear this isn't a shot at Chinese people or people of Chinese heritage, rather is it a condemnation of the Government of China.

Hard to read. Bunch of people just watching or recording a rape from start to finish and no one does anything, not even call 911. Line them all up, they’ve lost their human cards.

Pakistan has figured out a way to have honor killings illegal, but the punishment for honor killings to be minimal. This particular case is pretty nonsensical.
Quote:
Nearly 1,000 Pakistani women are murdered by close relatives each year in so-called "honour killings" for violating conservative norms on love and marriage. Such killings are considered murder. But Islamic law in Pakistan allows a murder victim's family to pardon the killer, which often allows those convicted of honour killings to escape punishment.

Thieves in Vaughan attempted to break into a bar in the middle of the morning.
The bar is across the street from a police station.
Quote:
“When the guys (officers) got the call, it was, like, ‘Are you serious? Look out the window, you can see the bar,’ ” Mitchell said.

And yet apparently, two of them got away!.

A woman outfitted with a tiny microphone and hidden camera walked up to a dilapidated drug house on a chilly afternoon last year looking to buy meth from a dealer known on the streets as “Mississippi.”
But as the informant disappeared inside with a career criminal with a rap sheet spanning three decades, her law enforcement handlers left her undercover on her own — unprotected and unmonitored in real time. And the devices she carried passively recorded a crime far more horrific than any drug buy.
|
Quote:
Parker, who retired this month, told the AP that the sheriff’s office didn’t start using equipment capable of monitoring in real time until after the alleged rape, and often would send informants into stings without any recording equipment at all.
“We’ve always done it this way,” Parker said. “She was an addict and we just used her as an informant like we’ve done a million times before. Looking back, it’s easy to say, ‘What if?’”

Ya, What if you guys had an ounce of humanity and maybe thought his through? Using society's victims to catch a criminal... Ugh. Gross.
