No no, he's saying Lindblom should get the Masterton, not Lindholm should get the C

It’s basically the comeback player of the year award

Yeah not sure why Lucic is even nominated

Because he sucks less than he is expected too? He still produced way less than his pay scale

His best contribution is waiving his NMC

There is precedent for Lucic winning. After all, Devan Dubnyk won after recovering from playing for the Oilers, beating out Kris Letang, who recovered from a stroke.

It's "dedication to the game" IIRC, and has become something of a hardluck player overcomes adversity award. It has nothing to do with sportsmanship, although I suppose a real dick on the ice is unlikely to win.

Bobby Clarke has won it. Not exactly the epitome of sportsmanship.

Odd list for sure. Every team has someone so it’s got a participation ribbon feel

You have Lindblom and his battle with and recovery from cancer, which I suspect is one of the more compelling nominees.

Then there are a whole lot more nominations are just of veterans on the back 9 who don’t have the role they used to but still lace them up and contribute. The guys battling Father Time

That used to be enough. Lanny won it basically for that reason (maybe surviving both Ballard and the Rockies counted). Henri R won it because his brother got all the better awards and was better looking.
