They have a twitter account with their intro video and logo video:
https://twitter.com/CPLCavalryFC
Shots of the stadium in the video... looks smaller than I expected capacity wise. Spruce Meadows says it needs to be partially, temporarily dismantled when needed to allow for jumping.

Majority of the seating is in the end-zones, eh? That's a bit disappointing, though likely mandated by space concerns.

What is the seating capacity that they are expecting to build?

I quite like the crest - simple, not overdone and not some sleek, modern looking creation. Don't mind the name quite as much now that I know a bit of the story, but think then that even Strathcona FC would've been better.
So, what happens to Foothills now? Do they still continue or are they folded into this team?

I'm hoping that the diagram is just a placeholder for something with some effort, but otherwise I'm a little underwhelmed with this "stadium." By the sounds of it, its not truly soccer-specific, since its intended to do both jumping and soccer still. At least its real grass and no football lines though. Right now, it looks like they simply putting up some basic bleachers, with a huge chunk of them significantly offset from the field or behind the nets to line up with the existing structure which doesn't appear to have much seating. Doesn't look like any of the seating will be covered either. I agree that it doesn't look anywhere close to 7000 seats.
Logo looks good, nice and simple, and the story of the name makes it a bit less cheesy. Still expect to see it referred to as Calvary FC a lot.

7000 seats is not very big. The lower bowl of the Saddledome is 6300 seats, for instance.

Just got back from the event. I am absolutely ecstatic for this new club. People can whine and nitpick all they want about specific details, nothing can take away the excitement for me.
Lots of media there; Global, CTV, CBC, Fan960 (Pinder hosted), Calgary Sun, and likely more. While I dislike the name, when they explained the reasoning behind the choice, it made more sense. The logo is filthy, and the stadium is going to be awesome. The stadium plans kind of remind me of a proper National League stadium, complete with raised corner stand ala the neutral stand at Craven Cottage. Snapped this pano of the ground as it was this afternoon. Spoilers for size.

I know they need more space for technical areas and benches, but those seats on the one side seem very far from the sideline. Looks bizarre.

Okay... I'm sold. I initially was hoping and pleading we wouldn't get anything 'western' or 'cowboy' related, but now that I've heard the back story to the team name I've warmed up to it. And that logo is ####ing SICK.
I'm ready to buy season tickets, can't wait to support this.

Logo: Nailed it.
Name: Better with the back story. I can get behind it.
Stadium: I love that it is unique, disjointed, and uses some existing facilities. But I also think that the seats are too far from the sidelines and it isn’t as tight as I had hoped. But... just renderings I guess. The closer supporters are to the pitch and to each other = better atmosphere.
On balance, I think that it all looks pretty good. I’ll definitely be attending matches, but I’ll have to wait and see before committing to season tickets solely because of the distance from my house. Can’t please everyone though, and I think that it will be well attended regardless.

Shermanator do you know how the ticketing will work? I see that there’s a pre-sale on now and then tomorrow we can start putting deposits down and they’ll sort out seating and stuff later? Is there going to be a designated section for supporters?

I think all the logistics around seating are TBD. We chatted with the CEO of Spruce Meadows and I think they are still working things out around a supporters section. Personally, I want the little section in the SW (I think) side near the corner flag.

Also, the commissioner mentioned that season tickets will comprise of 14 home games and 1 or 2 Voyageurs Cup games. The winner of the league will also have a berth in the CONCACAF Champions League.

The Champions League berth is really important, something to strive for. Imagine if MLS teams or Mexicans teams come to Calgary one day!
