At one point "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" was the most popular show world wide... It beat out the Baywatch titan at the time. Those two should be in there just from their popularity alone.
I also would call it scripted TV or else Oprah and The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, blah blah blah should be in there.
TV shows are better than they were a decade ago. Especially character plot shows. It would make sense that most of them in the list would be in the last few decades.

I might have to set up a bunch of fake accounts to vote for The Simpsons. It would be criminal if it doesn't make the final four at the bare minimum.
Empire Magazine actually ranked it as the greatest show of all-time.
http://www.empireonline.com/50greatesttv/
Their top ten is:
1. Simpsons
2. Buffy
3. The Sopranos
4. The West Wing
5. Lost
6. 24
7. Friends
8. The Wire
9. The X-Files
10. Spaced
Pretty solid list aside from the inclusion of Friends at #7. I don't see how anyone can see it as the best sitcom ever.
We should do this for movies as well later in the month. Not much else to do now that the Flames are out of it.
Edit: Damn Family Guy made the list. It's not better than American Dad!

Do not understand how The Shield isn't a top 64 show. How many people actually voted?

Ok the match-ups are now set and the voting can now begin. Try and vote in each match-up, even if you don't like either show. Flip a coin, close your eyes, do whatever you need to do.
Just doing 2 divisions for now. Will keep voting open until the voting slows down or 48 hours.

Disappointed The shield is not in there. In my top 5 all time. The show was just relentless when it came to drama. So intense.

Ya I'm just doing 2 for now. I'll add the other 2 after the voting is closed for these ones.
Also feel free to discuss the match-ups, who you voted for, why and anything else.

A lot of these pairings I have seen neither, so it was NOT a scientific poll, like CNN would do. I guessed.

The match-ups were mostly selected at random.

Sad to see Luther, The West Wing, and Criminal Minds immediately eliminated.

Did I miss something, or was GoT not in either poll?

He said two more polls will be added later. Obviously GoT will come in there.

Dexter a two seed? Really people? 3 good seasons and 4 bad ones, show hasn't been good in years.
Boardwalk empire vs wonder years was a tough one for me. Love both those shows.
