Was surprised to not see the Google Experience launcher on the N4's 4.4
I can see how it's very underwhelming without a significant change like that.

Standby time on my phone since getting 4.4 has been incredible. I think it's slightly worse when being used (marginal) but when it's just sitting there it's added hours, doesn't "bleed" away battery life as it did before.

I've held off on updating to KitKat because of the negative feedback, but is this just the same crap that every version of iOS got when it was released, or is there actually a good reason to wait until they put out a patch to fix a bunch of this stuff?

My Nexus 4 is on 4.4 with no issues at all, but I haven't upgraded my Nexus 10 tablet due to problems I've heard...

Just curious - are these email syncing issues because of accounts syncing with Microsoft Exchange Serrver? Or would they happen with a personal email address syncing to Shaw's POP3/SMTP servers, for example?

It seems to be the on-board email client on Androids running Kit Kat (4.4). It doesn't seem to be an issue when running a POP3. But most people want to sync and "push" their mail, rather than POP3.
That's my understanding.

I've been losing my ability to change from silent, to vibrate, to ring with the side button lately. It just doesn't work the way it is supposed to. I have to hold the power button down briefly to switch between the three options. Anyone know why?

My 2.5 months old Nexus 4 would still turn itself off without warning once every 6 days or so. I have tried running it without additional apps other than the ones that come with the phone and it made no difference. KitKat update did nothing to solve the problem either. Google Play is now replacing it with a refurbished unit.
Meanwhile, I have been using a Motorola Moto X for 38 days, and I am sold on the phone. The closest analogy to the good feeling of using this rebel of an Android phone is the Fahrvergnügen you get from driving a Volkswagen GTi.

I haven't even got the update on my Nexus 5 yet! It says that I'm on 4.4 under the About Phone section...
I do prefer the way Apple released phone updates way better. What's the advantage of rolling it out like this to random people anyways.
