try setting APN type to
default,supl,mms,hipri
hipri might be LTE cannot remember. Did you delete and add it back in?
There also might be settings in the messaging app itself. Strange that some can receive(iphone) and others cannot. I know you can spoof your phone on some custom roms not sure about stock.

I think hipri is the setting you need as (I believe) it is a specific Android setting. Would explain why iphone and BB receive and android does not.

So I picked up a Nexus 7 the other day. Can anyone speak to the durability of it? I got a case but I actually prefer using it without the case. Can it take a little bit of a beating?

I've dropped my Nexus 7 gen 1 down a flight of stairs and it survived... mind you the stairs were carpeted though.

My Nexus 4 still hasn't broken and I dropped it from about 5 feet this morning putting it in my jacket pocket heading out the door. The Nexus 4 is one of the most fragile phones on the market but I've been super lucky, nine times out of ten it's luck with these devices.
I've got a 2012 nexus 7 and it's nice rubbery back is really darn good though, never treated it with as much baby gloves as I do with the 4.

Better idea about the numbers of N5s from MobileSyrip... Apparently only 4000 for us Western Canadians. Will there be enough?
Quote:
we have 4000 Units for Western Canada, however the Eastern Canadian Warehouse got 26,000 units today. i think they will supply most of Rogers, as most of our units are spoken for by Bell/Telus.

Can the frenzy over the N5/leaks get any higher?

Was not aware of that, didn't think they ever sold phones that were unlocked. It was still far cheaper though in the Play store

Question is I wonder what the allocation ratios was between Play and carriers. If it's roughly the same or even double, I don't know if demand can be met and we'll end up with the N4 stock shortage problems all over again.

Nexus devices can't be locked but obviously the carriers can put limits on how you purchase it. 9 times out of 10 they won't sell this devices outright without some sort of contract or plan.

According to Gavin, not to mention now multiple insider sources, we’re hearing the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat will finally be announced and detailed tomorrow, October 31st, starting at 8 AM PST. Google has yet to send out invites for a formal event, so just like last year they’ll be using the Play Store homefront and some press releases to share all the details, instead of taking a stage to reveal what’s new.

Yay but no fun press conference revealing would be pretty lame.

So according to leaks it'll launch simultaneously on many different sites, anyone planning on buying outside Play Store if that's the case? I might just to get the free shipping.

Well, technically 8AM PST is still 35 minutes away. But yes, 8AM PDT has passed.
