Would be cool, definitely. But at the same time, how excited can one get for an outdoor soccer game in February? Brrr.
That said, I'd go just to watch a Mexican team completely shut down in the cold. Talk about home field advantage!

Also, since Canada's only berth in the CONCACAF Champion's League is currently awarded to the Voyageurs Cup winner, they would have to rework the formula to give Canada a second entry.

I'd travel to Guadalajara for the away leg with Chivas.

Why does the ball in the logo have laces?

Because it's old school.
I really like the logo. I still don't like the name.

I think you'll definitely see MLS teams coming in within a few years via the V's cup. 8 or 9 teams plus the 3 MLS teams, I am thinking they'll possibly do a first round play in for 8 teams and have the 3 MLS teams and defending champ bye to the second round. If the team is any good and can win the first round they'll probably have almost a 50-50 shot of playing an MLS team.
The stadium looks OK to me but my main concern is having the one main grandstand that far back from the pitch. If they could fix that and bring it in it would look great.

Really excited for this. Grew up in the uk and I’m still a big football fan (even though my team Dundee United are brutal right now). Will definitely go and watch down at Spruce Meadows. My mate is a QPR fan and he will also be going. Should be good!

It is supposed to be an homage to the Calgary Caledonians. It is what a soccer ball looked like the first time Calgary had a national soccer champion allegedly.

Just to confirm, Tommy Wheeldon will be the GM and Coach. Excellent choice.

There's even a "Foot Soldier" reference at 47 seconds for the PDL Club.

The name is really growing on me. Not unlike Arsenal.

To be fair, Clanachan said they're working with CONCACAF on getting the league winner a berth into the CCL. It's not a done deal yet.

Easily the biggest drawback for me. Still in for season tickets and gear, but the similarity is something I could do without.

The similarity is warming me up to the name. I am an ardent Arsenal supporter, so I do like the Cavalry name now.
I am excited by this. Wonder how much season tickets will be selling for.

I like the name and emblem. I can’t see tickets being too expensive. It’s only 16 games, so say like $400 per seat ($25/game sort of thing?)

For me, I would be happy with anything under $300 for supporters section tickets, given that those are typically the worst seats in the stadium. Maybe a ticket range of $15-40 per ticket, and then charge whatever market demands for corporate suites.
On the other hand, beer should damn well be cheap. $6.50 a tall boy is the going rate at Foothills games.

I have had a couple of non-soccer friends do the 'ol "so Calgary is getting a soccer team" thing to me, so that's encouraging. Plus I did see a fair bit of traction on social media and on the news sites last night.
Say what you want about the mistakes of the past with professional soccer in this city, but a lot has changed. The population of the city for one, but even more importantly, social media wasn't even a thing in the Storm/Mustangs era.
I'm not saying that the media getting on board isn't helpful, because it absolutely is, but the club should still be able to reach its niche in ways that old ghosts of Calgary soccer could never dream of.

Calgary also has a very diverse citizen base now, so a professional soccer team is something that Calgarians in 2018 can come together and get behind. There's a broad spectrum of international soccer fans here now. This should bode well for soccer in this city.
