Watched bird box, don’t know why it’s showing up on my Netflix when it clearly says it’s not out until the 21st but whatever.
The wife really liked it, she said it was like the quiet ones but “not as creepy”. I would concur with her assessment.
I didn’t mind it, it’s not one I will tell everyone is a must watch, but decent for a thriller. I didn’t find myself picking up my phone to google random stuff through the movie so that’s a sign that it could hold my attention.
I was going to start watching the Ranch, but haven't gotten around to it, but after reading your review I might not bother, first of all because of Masterson being a monster, second of all I believe that when you write out a main character that the show is written around you should just kill the show.
I also wanted to make sure that all of you fellas and gals realize that the fourth season of Fuller House was uploaded on Friday, so you should all get on that.
i watched 3 episodes, i think its an archetype of whats wrong with sitcoms.
I've had a hard time putting into words what makes a bad sitcom to me. 1 dimensional characters, shots feel too staged and unnatural, and they seem to take the punch lines more seriously than the character stories.
For context I had a similar impression of all seasons of two and a half men, if that was your cup of tea you might like the ranch, but the popularity that show always confused me.
I haven't watch fuller house, and barely remember full house, so can't comment. but i think laugh tracks can work, Fraiser, Big Bang Theory... the situation is the joke, the Characters are the punch line and the laugh track is self awareness not a tool to extract extra laughter from an underwhelming joke.

Sometimes I watch a sitcom and wonder if the sitcom isn't the joke. They seem like they would be a parody sitcom in a larger comedy film/series.
2 Broke Girls is in this category. I just can't believe it's a real show.

Ya that made the short list of recent examples that came to mind, but Two and a Half Men struck me as the most popular of the ones that fall completely flat on their lack of self-awareness.
I did binge the first season of Sick Note. It's really enjoyable. I am surprised that they weren't able to get Simon Pegg for this, I think he and Nick Frost have great chemistry together, but I suppose that the younger Rupert Grint works better in the role.
Watched Bird Box and good lord it is a messy film- primarily because of the endless number of “well isnt that convenient” moments and the ease with which things get done for blindfolded characters. Seems like a great novel that has no business being adapted into a film- a 2hr movie simply doesnt have the time to portray the challenges in completing the most basic tasks when you have no vision. The novel quite likey deals extensively with this.

We lasted 10 minutes. Found the accents very difficult.
My family is all from the NW of Ireland (Donegal rather than Derry) so I guess I'm used to them. Though it is why I always found it odd when I'd hear people say they love Irish accents, lol.
Congratulations, Kevin. For the first time in two years, the craziest thing posted online by someone pretending to be the President of the USA wasn't from Trump.
