Sorry but I have no faith in this team to compete with that Leafs lineup. I hope they manage a win but if I am honest I am already looking ahead to Buffalo as a possible two points. That Leafs offense will feast on the high danger chances we give up combined with an old broken down Mike Smith.

Matthews is out 4+ weeks due to a shoulder injury he suffered on Saturday also still no Nylander. Gotta take advantage of those things.

that really does suck.
guess toronto fans will embrace the old "but if he were healthy all year, look at the ppg." argument when it comes to award season.

I am not especially concerned about this team. Saturday's game was a good showing and the Flames were a lot closer to the team in Games #2–6 where they looked like a Division contender than they played in their three previous games.
I think they come out flying, and I think they win.

For those that want to use the schedule as an excuse for the Flames start, or the trip to China, it seems like the Leafs have far greater excuses for this game so here's hoping we put it to them.

No excuses, but I think the huge turnover in the summer combined with a wholesale coaching change has more to do with the Flames's bi-polar play in October than anything else. Regardless of what coaches pronounced publicly or what fans hoped for there was always going to be an adjustment period. I think the realistic expectation was that the adjustment wouldn't be so painful as to take the team out of playoff races, and here we are.

I agree, It would be nice to see Bennett-Jankowski-Neal break out. It seems like they are close to a breakthrough. That adding scoring would change how teams defend again the Flames.

I wish Czarnik was in the projected lineup instead of Hathaway.
I am optimistic the Flames will have a good game tonight. I feel they are on the upswing after hitting an obvious low point against the Rangers, Canadiens and Penguins.

Taking a while to get to 5000

They had the look of a team ready to break out of a slump on Saturday. Played well, a little tentative (maybe a lot at times) but overall good.

Didn't the flames have 2 periods where they went with this top 6 and it went pretty well:
Gaudreau Monahan Tkachuk
Bennett Backlund Neal
I'm surprised Peters hasn't gone back to it

Lots of weapons in the Leafs lineup, even without Matthews.
Unfortunately I think Mike Smith is what he is at this point, a bad goaltender, and this team will continually have to fight with one arm tied behind their back because of Smith.
5-2 Leafs.

Brodie is notorious for playing like hot garbage whenever the flames make the trip out to Ontario and Michigan.... Tries to do way too much.
Hope this isn't the case again.

Czarnik looks to be in the coach's doghouse. What's up with him? He looked so good in pre-season and looked like a huge steal and due for a breakout this season. Has he been horrible during games? Not good in practice?
