Still plenty of firepower for the Leafs, but at least we don't have to deal with one of the big guns. It's like playing Pittsburgh without Malkin.
Let's hope the defense is ready again. 5 on 5 this is a pretty good team even though last week sorta sucked. I'm still waiting for the special teams to start contributing. Combined percentage of 100% is the goal. Still a ways to go to get there.

Leafs need to bring Grant Clitsome out of retirement and have him play on the same team as Hyman.

Flames/Leafs games have been pretty boring the last few years, especially when they play in Toronto. I'll say 7-5 final.

some people may get a lot of pleasure out of seeing this, while lots of guys have trouble spotting grant in the lineup.

Please god let my personal ACC curse end tonight (0-8 in person since I moved here). Based on our most recent showings I'm not too optimistic.....

I hope Brad is exploring any and all aspects of a goalie acquisition as we speak.
0 confidence in Smith, and with him starting tonight against the Leafs we're going to need a high scoring game to be able to go toe to toe.
All optimism is shot until we can string 3-4 good games in a row.

A win would be a nice change of pace.
Can we try that?

I moved here in 2015 and have been to every flames game at the ACC since then. Lost all three, last season we should have won, shootouts are the worst.
There really is little reason to be optimistic tonight, the only reason at all is that they are missing Matthews, but they still have plenty of firepower. Even without Tavares last season, leafs fared pretty well when Matthews missed time.
Anyways little reason to be optimistic but for some reason I really think tonight is the night I finally get to see a flames W at the ACC.

4-1 Flames, Smith with a surprisingly good game, doesn’t let a goal in until the 3rd. Backlund and Monahan get their monkeys off their backs, Neal gets his 2nd goal in 3 games and Jankowski gets an empty netter.

I'll be there tonight with my father in law and son. The Flames rarely win in Toronto, but I will say they win 4-3.

Ugh i hate when the flames are in TO, I've seen them lose so many that I have stopped going to the acc for these.
I think the flames give up 4+ goals again, the main question being whether their forwards can do damage against that d/Andersson. I am not confident at all.
My guess is 6-3 leafs with the leafs scoring an EN.

one of my pre-season wishes was to win in Toronto...Flames fans in Ontario know how hard it is to deal with co-workers, friends, etc after a loss.
bringing my wife so hopefully she will be the good luck charm.
GFG!!!!

Even if they lose, just want Smith to have a good game with zero softies.

As long as Smith is playing I’m expecting a loss. He was never a great goalie and now he’s over the hill. I think the players have Smith on a short leash mentally and it’s affecting their play. 5-2 leafs.
