The extra point is for a skills competition.

Really amazing, isn’t it. In Europe it’s like — win and you get the points (3); lose and don’t (0). If you both are losers and can’t sort it between yourselves and end up tieing, each can have 1 point and 1 point is burned as punishment to both.

In NA Hockey it’s like — play for the tie and we can get bonus points!!! 3 points between us sure is sweeter than 2 points between us— and we can just sort the allocation in the last five minutes or so.

I thought they were the better team over most of the first and were unlucky to be down 2. Despite coming back to tie it then I thought they let the fact they were better and still behind get to them a bit.
