Default Flames get taken to the woodshed, thumped 9-1 by the Pens

I don’t get it. The team has shown it can hang with the best in the league, beating Nashville and Boston pretty easily. Then they throw up 3 games in a row where they look like a dumpster fire. The coach really needs to show how good he actually is and figure this out quickly. The team are notoriously slow starters so a record of 5-5-0 isn’t that terrible but they better right the ship quickly. Smith was hung out to dry tonight but even still, outside 2 games he has looked Jonas Hiller bad. Better hope Rittich continues his strong play or Treliving is on the hot seat to find a reliable goaltender. Use this asskicking as motivation, regroup and get ready for Saturday. Hopefully we can chalk this up to new coaching/systems/players and they go on extended winning streak after working the kinks out, as they have previously.

You know this is one of those nights I really wish our head coach was John Tortorella. He would have walked to the microphone after this one and ripped this team a new #######. The Flames need to get some people embarrassed and pissed off in that locker room. Does any organization like to send their fans home more unhappy than this one?

Fitting that the one goal the Flames managed to score was the worst goal I've seen them score since David Jones scored off Matt Dumba's face.

Hopefully a wake up call. Confidence looks shot though so who knows when they pull out of this spiral.

Well it's typical for the Flames to #### the bed in October but I have a strong feeling we will be looking for a new GM by the end of the season.

Overall I think we played well. Lots of shots, stats were up. High quality chances all around, bounces just didn't come our way.

Can't blame anyone really, especially not the goalies or defense men or forwards or coach.
